Care to explain why you would think only the privileged are the ones who tend not to put the cart before the horse?
Comment on Gave him an offer, then took it away. Thanks PayPal.
njm1314@lemmy.world 2 days agoThat sounds like a very privileged mindset to me. Most of us don’t have the resources to have that luxury.

The mere fact that you think it’s a choice for most people is why I think that.

If you’re as far along as the guy in OP then you’re being irresponsible to not be looking for a place to live. Dude got the job and had it pulled from him, this would get him unemployment in California at least

As someone mentioned already, wait until actually signing the contract before moving. It is not “privileged” not to put the cart before the horse.

“signing the contract” doesn’t happen at most places, an offer is more than enough to constitute reasonable cause to start preparing to move for a job
If you wait to start moving your gonna not have a place to live with that new job, shit takes time

Very clearly states that he already signed it.

Never had privilege; I’ve just been fortunate enough to have an emergency fund. Took me over a decade to save enough, but I have enough now that I could go 3 months without a job.

For those who haven’t reached that decade of saving, they are still at the mercy of their jobs.
