I got that immediatly after I joined and blocked it from bot behaviour.

Yes, I believe this is the first scam/spam-to-private-mail bot that reached such a wide audience. On lemmy at least.
Been going on for quite a while now, but itâs difficult to block permanently since there are so many instances where they can make an account. Until theyâve used up all the nicole+instance domain names lol.
Unfortunately started seeing some with just a random string for the username. The display name can still be âNicoleâ.

I only joined a couple of days ago and have seen Nicole many times already. So I donât know, but feels like it to me đ¤ˇđźââď¸

Itâs made into a meme, but it is real spam. Nobody really knows why the person behind it does it.
