I don’t know much about the Ultra Story line, but from what i do know about it (Ultra Beasts and Team Rainbow Rocket), it just really doesn’t do it for me

Imo the OG version is overall better, Ultra version add a lot of pokemon you can catch, making the game even more easier. The limited pokemon you can have in the og version makes the game more akin to the earlier pokemon game. It still easier of course. Except the final boss, that thing slap in both the fight and the music, so that’s one win for Ultra.
Also i like the og story more, ultra seems like they just slap a new story on top of the old one but forgot to smoothen out the edge.

Is it? I was thinking it was the kind of thing to sound like post game but I wasn’t sure

It is, randomly happens in the festival plaza after the main plot. Honestly not that interesting despite the premise, there’s barely any plot to be found, just the most basic excuse to have you fight a couple battles with past villains and it’s over very quickly. They’d advertised so much around Rainbow Rocket that I was a bit disappointed.

I agree on the story point.
Worst part IMO is that original SuMo had the most interesting antagonist the series ever had, and Ultra decided fuck that, let’s rewrite that character in the most boring way possible and drop a random threat out of nowhere instead.

Yeah, i feels like ultra take away the motive of og lusamine but still retain her craziness, so the sudden change of her motive midgame feels so weird. What worst is she still treat her child the same way in the beginning. OG Guzma is a big bully because he follow Lusamine order but ultra Guzma just doesn’t have the reason to be a bully. It’s weird.
