It actually harms Google a little in regards to trademark if it becomes a common verb.
Same thing nearly happened to Xerox, people used Xerox to mean “make a copy” so much they nearly lost the trademark to it

They make their money on ads, so if it takes you multiple clicks or searches to get the answer you want, they sell more ads.
