You don’t need to go back to TikTok. At least going by the memes RedNote seems to have an healthier and more wholesome environment, so if you are going to remain in a gilded cage of a social network, might as well make it the one with broader views.

It amazes me how long “porque no los dos” has been a meme and people still have a hard time understanding two things can be true at the same time.
Does China do some shit well, maybe even better? Duh. Does that excuse authoritarianism? Of fucking course not.
Same shit with the ussr back in the day. Just because America is an imperialistic shit hole of worker’s rights and healthcare doesn’t mean you trade a frying pan for a fire.
But this also doesn’t mean we start blaming citizenry for their governments, or making racist attacks. It also doesn’t mean that leftist thought is de facto evil. It just means authoritarianism sucks unwashed pig nuts.

Yeah, also… Relying on social media of any type to get a realistic depiction of an entire country is really really dumb.
Imagine if you moved to America because of Instagram, thinking everyone here did nothing but travel and thirst post.
Social media app users are primarily middle/upper class millennials and younger. You know the people most isolated from the general public and not in charge of anything.
