Décadi 20 Nivôse an 233 de la Révolution, jour de Van
- Preshave: Proraso White Preshave
- Brush: Zenith 506U XS Horse 🐎
- Razor: Star 1912 Type Razor
- Blade: Personna GEM PTFE (17)
- Lather: Le Père Lucien Traditionnel
- Postshave: Naissance 702 Witch Hazel
- Postshave: Epsilon Blue Mediterranean
- Postshave: Nivea After Shave Balm
I received a mail today from Le Père Lucien (4 shaving soaps and an after-shave; I will not be able to kill 4 soaps this year, I’m afraid…), and I also got a smush of his Traditionnel soap. So why not start with this one? First impressions: It provides a good and protective lather, but the smell reminded me disturbingly of a Bouquet Garni that I would put into soup.
Official scent notes: Lavender, eucalyptus, thyme, rosmary
~Now that I see it, I should have listened to Scarborough Fair by Simon & Garfunkel while shaving.~
Excellent shave with the 1912.
Have a good evening!

Whiskey-labeled soaps who end up smelling like smoked sausages are on the same page 😓

Ooh, which one’s that?

A Meißner Tremonia soap that tried to go for Scotch whisky. Please refer to the reply I gave @PorkButtsNTaters666 ✌🏻

Public service question: which one is/are these?

Meißner Tremonia - Strong’n’Scottish is the offender. They were probably going for the smoky, earthy notes of good Scotch - but to me, it only resembles the smell of smoked “Knackwurst” 😥
