The American green party is outright electoral onanism.
jesus fucking christ, if you want people to understand you, use more commonly used words. No one is impressed that you know what onanism is, just say “masturbation” or “jerking off” or “self gratification” or something jesus.

They have more lower office holders than all other third parties. But go off on your 1980s era propaganda. It sure worked for you guys this past election… And in 2016…

They have existed for 40 years and never held federal office nor ever won state level office as a green and remained green . The 8 state level folks that have ever served in 40 years consist of hilarious shit like winning as a green and then switching parties and winning as a dem switching to green and losing.
It is literally 40 years of continuous failure with absolutely nothing to show for it.

It’s better than any other third party. And given you’re voting for the corporate destruction of the planet if you vote dem or repub, they’re the choice to go with if you’re not yet ready for PSL.
Sorry, no one with a conscious can vote either dem or repub. That leaves third party voting for those that still want to waste an hour one every couple of years.

It’s nothing. Absolutely nothing. Worth nothing. Accomplished nothing. It’s like its a wonderful life but if George Bailey walked around the town and found out everything was as good or better without him.

Than other third parties… Exactly what percentage of elected offices in the US are held by third parties?
Keep working on that third party strategy. It sure worked for you guys this past election… And in 2016… and in every other damn year.
theonlytruescotsman@sh.itjust.works 4 days ago
A very small percentage, because people like you prefer fascism to democracy.
Tinidril@midwest.social 4 days ago
If you say so. My strategy has gotten a hell of a lot closer to hurting the establishment than any of yours though.

Are you implying the alternative is the absolutely nothing candidate of Kamala or even Biden? Democrats guilt tripping over not voting for the one of the one parties is insane.
Tinidril@midwest.social 4 days ago
Did you see me guilt trip anyone? I’m just mocking your unbelievably self-unaware rant attacking people who did vote for a candidate that had a chance. I don’t do guilt trips, but stupid is as stupid does.

So we’re on the same page, www.gpelections.org/greens-in-office/
I see a few city councillors and a smaller number of townie mayors. One of the three mayors runs a place with a population of sixty. I’ve voted for greens and will again, but what I’m seeing doesn’t match the bravado on display.
theonlytruescotsman@sh.itjust.works 4 days ago
That’s still better than any other third party. They have the best chance among third parties, right now, to get to the state and then federal level.
Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 4 days ago
The biggest third party in the US, or the biggest snowball in hell? I’ll keep voting for em, but there’s no reason to get excited.
