  You could apply that same logic to the north of England, most of the tax is raised in the South East and London. You can’t make this a blanket Scotland vs England thing.

  Scottish income tax bands raise more money than their UK equivalents per capita and I’m happy to pay that for better services.

  I receive the Scottish equivalent and the experience could not be more different than my friends description of his encounter with the PIP process. The Social Security Scotland staff that I interacted with throughout the process genuinely seemed to care about me. Someone came to my home to help me with my application and assisted me in writing it in such a way that I’d get as much help as possible.

  I have another friend who works with Social Security Scotland and he says that going after fraud is such a tiny fraction of the work he does. I personally agree with that philosophy, its worth accepting that some small percentage of fraudsters will slip through the cracks to make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible for those that truly need it.

  I live less than 30 miles away from 3 of the world’s most famous golf courses and I have literally zero interest in the sport. The closest one is just something I cycle through occasionally.

  Totally valid criticism, I absolutely agree with you. Times are tough for trans folk and giving money to transphobes is not helping that.

  Looking back on it, I wouldn’t buy it having seen how far off the deep end she has gone. I admit I dismissed her at the time as just a nutjob on Twitter but she’s now proved to me that she is a bigot beyond reproach.

  I also find myself in a better educated position than I was at that time. I have more LGBTQ friends and family than ever and I’m challenging anti-trans behaviour in others when I spot it.

  Not OP but I bought it for my sister who is notoriously impossible to buy birthday presents for because she explicitly requested something for once, then I played it through Steam family sharing to deny at least one sale of the game.
