Ok, What do you foresee us needing to do on our phones that we cannot do now?
- Comment on New mobile features are sh*t these days 3 weeks ago:
Sounds like you probably watched the pixel one. He was unable to fold the others backwards, and he is not a weak dude.
- Comment on New mobile features are sh*t these days 3 weeks ago:
My fold3 had metal missing from the hinge from dropping it and it still worked until I sold it 3 years in. You’d really be surprised, I don’t even use cases unless I want magsafe mount-ability in my car. Plenty of drops and abuse

I guess if phones turn into all-in-one devices we could need more power, but I haven’t noticed any change in gaming performance for generations of snapdragon. Always locked at 60 fps.
- Comment on New mobile features are sh*t these days 3 weeks ago:
Chinese ones are literally the thickness of an iPhone, when folded. With bigger batteries too! SiC tech we don’t have in the US yet.
It’s wild how foldables were just weird and cumbersome, and all of a sudden are “ready”.

S9 was a great year for Samsung. But yeah that’s getting up there in age lol. Would be in 2nd grade if it were a kid 😂
Check the used market, mine was $900 mint condition on swappa. I figure the Open 2 is coming out Q1, so I bet the price will drop to <$700 soon
- Comment on New mobile features are sh*t these days 3 weeks ago:
Gross. Then why not buy the
$3400$9000 tri-fold? It’s like the price of a used car - Comment on New mobile features are sh*t these days 3 weeks ago:
If they want new tech why get on an iPhone program? They are withholding progress to give a slow trickle over time. I guarantee I could not tell the difference between the last 3 years of iPhones if you put them in front of me.
- Comment on New mobile features are sh*t these days 3 weeks ago:
Bro they are ready. Check out the OnePlus Open. Typing this on my outer-screen now, it’s very comfortable and feels like a normal iPhone closed.
I bought it second hand and the screens are still flawless. I do not baby my phones. It is currently case-less
The crease is practically non existent, I constantly get comments on that. I think people are used to how Samsung’s folds have a deep valley crease.
- Comment on New mobile features are sh*t these days 3 weeks ago:
I can believe why you think that if you use iPhones. Foldables are out here completely changing the game. Apple will make one in 2030 I’m sure
- Comment on New mobile features are sh*t these days 3 weeks ago:
Who are these people? All my friends and family keep phones for 3-5 years. Im the “new phone” guy and I’m on a 3 year schedule
- Comment on New mobile features are sh*t these days 3 weeks ago:
We are “there” with processing power IMO. Form factor is the next evolution. Try a foldable and find out that regular phones are so limiting.
-
I can legit get work done. Two or three apps comfortably shown. (Teams, tickets, admin console)
-
I just moved and reading/signing docs on a big screen was so helpful.
-
navigation with an 8in screen is objectively better. Can even split screen with Spotify or the message thread with whoever I am visiting/meeting.
-
tripod for taking pics. I use this SO much. Along with selfies using the main cameras
I tried to go from fold 3 to S23U and gave it to my mom after 2 weeks. Right back to foldables with OnePlus Open. Takes even better pics

This reminds me that expectation is the enemy of happiness. I didn’t plan anything last year for my 34th, just hung out with my dog like a regular day and went on a hike. No disappointment, just another day!

We are animals, monogamy is not a part of humanity like it is in penguins.
Our penises reshaped over millenia of orgies just to get all the other guys cum out. We are sluts of the animal world, like rabbits - Comment on the final boss after you clear Donald Knuth 3 months ago:

- Comment on Why is the consumption of Meat considered bad 1 year ago:
It’s funny how nowadays when a cow eats what is naturally supposed to eat we charge double price for it and consider it some specialty. It’s no wonder they have to jack them up with hormones.
- Comment on Why is the consumption of Meat considered bad 1 year ago:
So we shouldn’t reduce the problem on one front because we can’t get rid of it completely?
Without agriculture we would all starve, you can’t say the same for beef.
Why not reduce the damage that agriculture causes AND reduce the impact and scale of beef production?
- Comment on Why is the consumption of Meat considered bad 1 year ago:
Alright, we are talking right past each other. Have a good one
- Comment on Why is the consumption of Meat considered bad 1 year ago:
That’s a lot of rationalization with no facts to back it up.
I’m getting a “well ackchually” vibe from your comment. If I put a mouse on the ground next to a flower and told you to stomp one of them to death, You would be comfortable with either option equally?
Yes plants respond to negative stimuli, that doesn’t imply suffering on the level of a conscious being.
You’re making a lot of assumptions about my beliefs in your comment. I do not believe any animal has more right to life than any other animal. With that said if you are in the woods trying to survive like our ancestors then your biological needs take priority, you can’t survive on plants in winter. The thing is that is not our reality. We are wolfing down red meat giving ourselves colon cancer needlessly. Trading suffering for joy, not suffering for survival
- Comment on Why is the consumption of Meat considered bad 1 year ago:
If we stopped eating meat we would have 50% more land for farming human food than we currently do (we currently use 33% of cropland for feed alone). Raising cattle is not efficient at all, it is a waste of energy and land and water.
It’s not like the land we used to grow the feed we’ll just evaporate. This is why so much lobbying has gone into pushing the narrative that we all need to eat a ton of red meat.
- Comment on Why is the consumption of Meat considered bad 1 year ago:
I’m not arguing that we should eat animal feed, but rather use that land to grow food for humans
- Comment on Why is the consumption of Meat considered bad 1 year ago:
I’ve heard this tired argument that plants and sentient mammals have the same capacity for suffering so many times. I think it is a disingenuous way of excusing the suffering your choices support.
A plant does not grieve when it’s offspring is removed from it. It does not have fear, or joy. Plants don’t play with each other and bond.
Yes. They communicate, and react to stimuli. So does a computer, but neither are sentient
- Comment on Why is the consumption of Meat considered bad 1 year ago:
Which applies even more to meat production. You have to grow massive amounts to feed livestock, more than if we just grew and ate the food directly.
