Most people don’t realize we loose weight by breathing, not excrements. You breath in O2, you breath out CO2. Same volume (since gases have more or less the same volume per molecule), but 37.5 % heavier. That’s how you loose weight.

Since the rest of the paper looks decent (I am no expert in this field), I have a guess: it got to review and it came back with a ‘minor review’ and the comment ‘please summarize XY at the end’.
In low impact journals minor reviews are handeled in a way, that the editor trusts the scientists to address minor changes accordingly. Afterwards it goes to production, where some badly payed people – most of the time from India – put everything in format, send out a proof with a deadline of max 2 days and then it will be published.
I don’t want to defend this practice, but thats how something like this can get through.

In text is the superior citing method (Me, 2024).
If you are an expert in this field you know the source by name and year and don’t need to interrupt your reading by skipping to the end of the page.
- Comment on UK perceived as more corrupt, falling to its lowest score on global index 10 months ago:
The idea of corruption is quiet complex. There are even economists that argue, that slight corruption leads to a more efficient economy, due to minimizing beaucracy.
Nevertheless, corruption can lead to people loosing faith into their government and therefore its inability to fulfill its role in society.
Therefore, this index measures ‘perceived corruption’. If you are interested in a more in depth explanation, I would suggest watching economics explained video to this topic: youtu.be/s4C1xiyGaGs?si=rTkOZAWbGKXzjLok
But a single ‘this index is bullshit meaningless’ is not paying justice to the complexity of this topic.
- Comment on 505 Games' parent company lays off 30% of its workforce, says gamers really only want sequels so that's what it's going to make 1 year ago:
Which is a sequel…
The best selling new game was Hogwarts Legacy. Which still has a strong IP behind it (which really was the only reason the game was selling so much).
The only game in the top 10 of the best selling games 2023 without being a sequel or having a strong IP behind it, is Starfield.

Thats a complete arbitrary point in time. Why that one and not one hundred years earlier during the ottoman empire?
