- Comment on DOOM: The Dark Ages Has Reportedly Sold Less Than 1 Million Copies 1 day ago:
Good news then because Dark Ages is extremely different than Eternal and a lot of people who didn’t like that game but loved 2016 are happy with it. I’m not saying rush out and spend $70 on it, but give it a go when it’s on sale down the line and you might end up really pleased with it.
Eternal was too hard for me. Love Dark Ages.
- Comment on I'm a console gamer so, Why the hate on the Epic Games Store? 1 week ago:
I rather gladly take my free games from them.
- Comment on I.... what? 2 weeks ago:
Just answered this question during a checkup a few weeks ago and kind of chuckled while saying no. This didn’t seem to raise any flags so it must be a common reaction.
- Comment on The new Diablo 4 Berserk crossover skins will cost you up to $150 2 weeks ago:
Used to be thrilled with the situation keeping game prices down since I have never personally spent a cent on horse armor. Guess that only worked for so long sadly.
- Comment on On the prospect of an $80-$90 GTA 6, former PlayStation boss says 'it's an impossible equation' for big-budget studios to keep their prices down 3 weeks ago:
Yeah? I’ll buy it when it’s on sale for $35 and they’ll profit, so it’s all good. Patience is a virtue and all that.
- Comment on Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2 3 weeks ago:
I don’t even have a console unless they plan on releasing it on Switch 2… so yeah, it’s gonna be a longer wait and I’m okay with that.
- Comment on Chrono Trigger Remake Seemingly Confirmed By Yuji Horii 3 weeks ago:
I was hoping Cross was the start of turning it into a larger series… and I will defend that game to the end of my days because it’s really very good. Living up to Chrono Trigger is obviously a tall order, but I’m overall really happy with Cross and would like to see more games.
- Comment on Chrono Trigger Remake Seemingly Confirmed By Yuji Horii 3 weeks ago:
Yeah, if they want to get crazy with creative changes then… hey, make a new Chrono game?
- Comment on Chrono Trigger Remake Seemingly Confirmed By Yuji Horii 3 weeks ago:
HD-2D would be great. Polygonal remake done with care could work. I don’t like the idea of completely changing the gameplay, design, and key plot points one bit though.

Dang, I called one an autistic dork and only got 3 days. Nothing against autistic people. I just knew it would trigger him.
- Comment on Anon gets dommed by his barber 4 weeks ago:
Yes, clay for curly hair! My stylist introduced me to that and now I realize it’s half the battle. L’Oréal shit I use is expensive at $23, but it lasts awhile and the results lead to regular compliments.
- Comment on Nintendo Maintains Nintendo Switch 2 Pricing, Retail Pre-Orders to Begin April 24 in U.S. 5 weeks ago:
Indeed I should have said “up to 4K” and of course that is usually going to require using Nvidia’s excellent DLSS tech. But at the end of the day, the results are a visual treat. Again, mainstream consumers don’t think about stuff like this. It’s a solid upgrade over Switch. Thing is going to sell out instantly and be hard to get for a year just like the original regardless of what we think.
- Comment on Nintendo Maintains Nintendo Switch 2 Pricing, Retail Pre-Orders to Begin April 24 in U.S. 5 weeks ago:
The hardware really isn’t dated though. Remember this is a handheld, not a console, and it’s using a newly designed custom Nvidia chip. Mainstream audiences aren’t going to be deeply analyzing the specs. They’re just going to look at the games. And the games look very good and are running at 4K.
- Comment on Nintendo Maintains Nintendo Switch 2 Pricing, Retail Pre-Orders to Begin April 24 in U.S. 5 weeks ago:
Yeah, they’re going to sell out immediately and stock is going to be scarce even if they did increase the price.
- Comment on Nintendo confirms $90 price for full Breath of the Wild experience on Switch 2 1 month ago:
One of the issues I have with the new open-world style Zelda games is that they don’t have replay value. After finishing each once (which takes a lot of time), I can’t actually imagine wanting to go back and play them again. So yeah, Nintendo can charge what they want and it isn’t very appealing regardless. Increased resolution isn’t going to change the experience.
- Comment on Warner Bros. Confirms New 'Gremlins' Movie and 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' Sequel 1 month ago:
Would be very nice if they don’t fuck Gremlins 3 up. Cautious optimism is the way.
- Comment on Minecraft movie spawns ‘annoying’ cinema trend that viewers claim ‘ruins’ the film 1 month ago:
I think there’s much worse things going on in the world than audiences having fun at a silly movie. If it bothers you too much, just wait to watch the movie at home in like 3 weeks.
- Comment on Quantum mechanics might have the solution to joystick drift 1 month ago:
8bitdo sells a fantastic controller that does everything the Switch Pro controller does besides gyro for $25. It has hall-effect sticks, hall effect triggers and a much better d-pad. It really sickens me how greedy the console manufacturers have gotten with controller prices.
- Comment on Are PC handhelds like Steam Deck really competitors for Switch 2? 1 month ago:
There’s some overlap in customers, sure but the vast majority of people who buy a Switch 2 aren’t the types who would buy a Deck. Switch 2 will sell tens of millions more units to a mainstream consumer. And that’s fine. Deck can still be a successful product in its own right as long as Valve is making a profit off of it through Steam software sales.
- Comment on The Switch 2 Rollout Was So Convoluted It Made Us Want A Steam Deck. 1 month ago:
Maybe I’m just getting old, but I was very bored and underwhelmed during the entire presentation even before the terrible pricing reveal. I like the mouse joycons and the Donkey Kong game. That’s about it.
- Comment on First-party Switch 2 games—including re-releases—all run either $70 or $80 1 month ago:
Hah. Oh hey… Look, it’s in 4K after all!
- Comment on First-party Switch 2 games—including re-releases—all run either $70 or $80 1 month ago:
I’m just going to get the Switch version and be perfectly happy with the visuals being slightly less good and using gyro joycon aim over joycon mouse.
- Comment on Antony Starr is glad ‘The Boys’ is ending: “I don’t like seeing things outstay their welcome” 1 month ago:
Agreed entirely. A show should last only as long as it takes to tell its story. 2-3 seasons is fine.
- Comment on No, Trump Cannot Run for Re-election Again in 2028 1 month ago:
There is a legit way that he can do it that I’d respect and accept… get 2/3 of Congress or 2/3 of state legislatures to agree and then have 3/4 of states ratify. Good luck with that.

- Comment on Online Wars Aside, 'Snow White' Simply Isn't Getting Moviegoers to Buy In 2 months ago:
Yeah, that’s not the reason this one is failing. I think it’s much simpler… it looks terrible and the CG dwarves are disgusting.
- Comment on PC gamers spend 92% of their time on older games, oh and there are apparently 908 million of us now 2 months ago:
Totally. Even with good new games, best to wait until they are cheap and completely stable. The impatience to play something the day it releases hasn’t been a thing for me since like 2010… which I agree with you were just generally better, more exciting times for the medium.
- Comment on "You should probably just throw it away" 2 months ago:
They use it for basic everyday stuff like web browsing? I installed Linux on my mom’s aging laptop that she just used to sell stuff on eBay, browse, listen to music, back up photos, etc. Linux glides with ease on the machine when Windows slogged and she was able to understand the OS fine. Users today don’t really have to touch the command line at all unless they are doing something advanced. The GUI is just as easy to understand as Windows.
- Comment on Steam is a ticking time bomb. 2 months ago:
I can think of very few companies or services that I approve of more than Valve and Steam. Being private and free of shareholder greed is huge. They’ve never once screwed me over.
Only moment of worry will be when the company changes hands, but I’m sure Gabe has already thought about a worthy successor who won’t destroy the soul of the company.
