- Comment on Microsoft Plans Major Job Cuts at Xbox Gaming Division 8 minutes ago:
I remember the exact moment when death of XBOX console basically started. It was XBOX One announcement where Don Mattrick messed up the rollout so bad no one knew how their always online DRM system worked. Sony made this video in response. Also there is this disaster of an interview where he said you should buy XBOX 360 if you can’t be online 24/7. Microsoft basically took it for granted that gamers were in their pocket and they could focus on dominating the livingroom by adding tv related features that gamers didn’t care about. Also Kinect was initially mandatory which made the console $100 more than PS4. XBOX lost console marketshare and they never recovered since then.

No I’m not suggesting that he throw away perfectly good materials. I disagree that he put a lot of effort into really trying. There was little to no follow up after discovering the parts weren’t from US. There was no attempt to contact the American chain mail supplier about limited capacity. Why is it that they can only supply so little amount? What would it take to increase capacity? Is it lack of people, machinery or investment? We don’t know because it wasn’t in the video. Same thing with the knobs that came from Costa Rica. There was no follow up. He didn’t even try to source knobs made locally. He just said he will later. He started out the video sounding like he was determined to figure out a way to complete task of trying to make a product made locally but he kinda just gave up and decided to just ship the product as is. The video started out as an education video but slowly turned into a marketing video. I find that disappointing.

There are six components to this grill scrubber and at least two are from foreign source. The chain mail is from China and the top knob is from Costa Rica. He also said the handle string is of unknown source. I’m bit disappointed that he just slapped a Made in USA label on it and called it good. For 75 dollars I expect a bit better.
I wish Destine did a better cost breakdown of every component of the scrubber and how he ended up with the $75 price tag at the end. He did that with the chain mail but didn’t discuss the cost associated with any other part of the process. That leads me to believe this video was more leaning towards making money rather actually trying to get to the bottom of problem with manufacturing a product in the US. Sadly I’m left disappointed.
- Comment on Bungie confirms it stole art once again, will undertake a 'thorough review' of Marathon assets 5 weeks ago:
This is fourth time a confirmed plagiarism happened at Bungie in recent years. There is also an ongoing lawsuit over accusation of Red War story theft. This isn’t some lone rogue employee issue. It’s a company culture issue originating from the top. I think Sony needs to step in and clean house to address the systemic problem.

Looks like GOG servers are struggling at the moment. Claiming the game isn’t working at right now.
- Comment on First-party Switch 2 games—including re-releases—all run either $70 or $80 2 months ago:
Gaming market as a whole seems to be going through a correction of sort and this is the time when Nintendo decides to raise the price? Good luck with that Nintendo.
I along with just about everyone here probably have a massive back catalogue of games on Steam to ride out whatever is currently happening in the gaming industry. Maybe I’ll just chill over by the corner and watch the gaming market craters itself into the ground.
- Comment on Does Monster Hunter Wilds still look and feel like dog water? 3 months ago:
From what I’ve heard this game is very CPU demanding title. To get a decent performance you have to be on platform with DDR5 and lots of CPU cores. Also game very much recommends RTX 4000 series or better with frame gen turned on. If you are trying to run the game on RTX 3000 series card, you should try turning on FSR frame gen. I suppose one can argue that game is not very well optimized and therefore it needs all that much hardware to run well and you’re not entirely wrong there. I think devs were too ambitious with all the graphical bells and whistles and found themselves in this situation.
- Comment on Dauntless is shutting down on May 29, 2025 3 months ago:
Damn this sucks. This game was pretty decent in the beginning. I had fun leveling couple different weapons. I bailed when they reworked the progression system to be more confusing and less rewarding. I’ve been meaning to check it out for nostalgia sake even though recent rework got a horrific reviews and now I don’t even have to bother. RIP
- Comment on People seem to really dislike Destiny 2. Why haven't they ended it yet? 9 months ago:
I used to hang out and chill on Titan whenever I was bored. Suddenly Bungie removed pretty much every content I ever purchased for the game including the the god damn moon Titan. All the campaigns for base game and three DLCs I paid for were just gone. To add insult to injury they level capped the gun I got from doing a PVP mission. Clearly Bungie doesn’t give a shit about money and time I spent on the game so I bailed. I uninstalled the game and moved on four years ago.
- Comment on Epic is giving away 17 games as part of its holiday sale 1 year ago:
PSA to everyone that has never played Destiny 2.
tldr; Epic is giving away Destiny 2: Legacy Collection. You’ll have to give Bungie whole bunch more money if you really want to play. Don’t give Bungie your hard earned money because Destiny 2 is now pay to win and they’ll always try to screw you. Don’t get sucked into this game and give this horrible company your money.
According to the article, Epic is giving away Destiny 2: Legacy Collection which contains The Witch Queen, Beyond Light, and Shadowkeep. If you’ve never played Destiny 2 and think this seems great because now you can start playing Destiny 2 for the first time. This isn’t so. You’ll still need to spend bunch of more money if you want access to seasonal content and they’re really not an optional. Just when you thought you’re done, you’ll then have to buy the Dungeon content which isn’t part of season pass. Oh by the way you can’t just buy season pass with money. You have to purchase their premium currency and then buy season pass with that currency which means you’ll always have a left over premium currency. This is definitely scammy and it’s by design.
Destiny 2 is dystopian microtransaction hellscape. They’ve been adding layers of microtransactions for years and this is the result. If you want to see how bad it has gotten watch this video by Aztecross.
