This just happened to me today. I was talking with a colleague and recalled that they had just gone on a short trip with their partner. First time away from the kids.
I asked how it was, I was a couple weeks overdue but they excitedly told me about it. It felt good to ask, did it change my day? Not really that much.
But this person was excited to share (a few weeks ago) their excitement and anticipation with me. So when I asked how it went, they got a chance to relive it and share with me the results.
All in all, they cared enough to share, I cared enough to ask and at the end of it, I felt good. I got to share in their excitement and make a person feel heard and valued AND they got to relive the excitement again.
- Comment on How does the day-to-day work of not wearing shoes in the house? 7 months ago:
This is the craziest thing to me…
I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I put my boots or shoes on at the door before I go out, and I take them off when I get home. If I get cold feet, I may put on slippers.
Inside the house, I’m bare foot or in socks. If I take the trash out and it’s nice, I go out barefoot. If it’s snowy or frigid cold (I’ll leave the Winnipeg weather up to you for a fun google) I put on my boots.
I don’t know anyone who wears shoes indoors unless they are elderly and need the support. It’s a sign of middle age / senior age living here.

Lego Harry Potter on Switch is what my wife and I did and she liked it. She is not a gamer.
Weirdly enough she also liked Mario Golf on switch.

What’s the most modern you could emulate on an android phone (s23)?
And is retroarch the best bet?
I’ve been entertaining the idea of buying a cheap laptop to play with Linux after yesterday’s posts and the idea of being able to emulate some more modern stuff and maybe install steam is appealing.

Used to read a little bit (~3-8 books a year). Now I read a lot (30+ books a year). Love escaping into a fantasy world
