It’s a fun game with a huge open world, but it’s not a classic per se. It’s just nice to see a dead game running again.
If Ubisoft had done this from the start… But it brought awareness to the topic, so in the end it’s good that they stayed true to their philosophy (of being dicks).
- Comment on Just in case you've been living under a rock: The Crew is playable again! 1 week ago:
If you have a PC or Laptop there is a good chance you could get it running, the game is pretty “old” and doesn’t scream for a high end gaming rig. Maybe that would be an option.
- Comment on Just in case you've been living under a rock: The Crew is playable again! 1 week ago:
Fair, but I wanted to play it again and had been living under a rock, who knows who else missed this.
And the deactivation of this game started the StopKillingGames campaign (which stays important regardless), there might be at least of few like me out there.

I’ll wait. Experience shows that the next dick move will come soon after.
I have no problem at this point to wait another two or three years.
- Comment on GTA V was released on this day, 12 years ago 2 weeks ago:
I liked GTA V, but after finishing it I drove around for a few hours and the never touched it again. I’m not really sure why.
I still go back to Vice City and San Andreas, somehow these worlds are just more fun. But like I said, I’m not sure why…
The graphics in 5 are great, the sound is great, but something is missing…
- Comment on Paradox are "making adjustments" to Bloodlines 2's day-one vampire clan DLC plans, following backlash 5 weeks ago:
My plan was to buy it on release, but the moment I read they would release clans as DLC the game was dead to me.
I’ll check back in a year or two. Maybe then when everything is in one package.

Seriously, you played behind your mom’s back. As did I and everyone else. Be careful, talk to her about the shitty tactics. She has to be aware of them, spot them, and know how they work to be able to avoid them. The hardest part will be for her to actually believe it. Those life service shit uses the most disgusting psychological tricks.
Or she will spent all her money behind your back someday.
We all had our tricks, and children will always be cleverer than their parents.

Gog, it has cloud saves there. Also I should have written a script to copy the save files every twenty minutes or so in the background. Would have saved me after the crash I guess…
- Comment on Remedy is in control | The Verge 3 months ago:
Thanks, but that’s what I did the third time after reading about that problem. I guess it was the crash that time that screwed with the auto saves.
- Comment on Remedy is in control | The Verge 3 months ago:
God, I hate shit like that! When it makes you wonder if you can quit the game because it’s late for example. Does it save? When did it save last? That’s just asshole design.
I’m playing Prey at the moment, it has quick saves aside of regular manual saving. It’s so comfortable!
- Comment on Remedy is in control | The Verge 3 months ago:
Implayed Control the first time without problems.
The second time my save games got messed up after doing the first mission for the janitor. Seemed my old cloud save games fucked it up. It became a mess.
The third time I deleted every cloud save, and it worked. Then, after ten hours the game crashed. And I lost three missions. And a lot of progress. None of the auto saves fixed it.
Dear Remedy, I have a PC. With a hard drive. I have room for thousands of save games. Let me fucking save my game myself!!
I had good memories of Control, but now my memories consist only of frustration. Why don’t Devs put in a reasonable save system in their games?

I’m not into these, even though I try them from time to time. But one was actually a looooot of fun - Shadow Warrior 2. The gunplay, the chaos, it was extremely entertaining!
And it only costs a es bucks.

That’s why I only buy games on GOG. After purchase I archive the installer, and it’s mine forever. On console you are really fucked.

Bummer… Thank you, I was seriously considering buying it this evening, thanks for the heads-up!
- Comment on Ubisoft patch Splinter Cell Blacklist after 12 years to add achievements 5 months ago:
So just that I understand this correctly: I need steam to buy it, but after that it launches without steam after I download the installer? Like on gog?
If yes, holy shit, I would have never expected this from EA!! Last time I checked this company was pure scum, but this is a surprisingly nice move!
- Comment on Ubisoft patch Splinter Cell Blacklist after 12 years to add achievements 5 months ago:
Doesn’t EA still require the steam launcher?? I’m not up to date anymore. What kind of DRM do they use now?
- Comment on [deleted] 10 months ago:
I only use Gog, and the good thing is, as you wrote, I CAN take my stuff and just leave, not that I would have any reason to at the moment.
Well, I do have other accounts like Steam and Ubisoft, but that’s only about ten games in total. Stopped buying there a long time ago when I realised I can’t backup my purchases and have to use their platforms to play.
I do miss out on many AAA titles, but seriously, they don’t appeal to me anymore. And I can wait until they drop on gog eventually.
But I don’t really see the problem in multiple accounts. If not owning is not a problem for someone why should he/she care?
- Comment on Slay The Princess gets three new chapters and more when The Pristine Cut releases 24th October 1 year ago:
I bought it blind on gog when it was on sale, visual novels aren’t my thing usually, but it did not have the anime look so I thought I gave it a try and drop it after half an hour.
Turns out it was one of the most impressive games I played these last years. What a mindfuck!
And the ending warmed my cold heart!
So I wanted to watch a review on YouTube, and what! The! Fuck! I had no idea how different (and gruesome) this game could get! Soon it’s holiday time, and it’s on my top list of things to do! Let’s see how I can fuck things up!
- Comment on What are some game series you would like to see revived? And if possible, which entry should the new game follow from? 1 year ago:
Nonono, that’s it!!! I totally missed the link :)
After fiddling with my original CDs back two years I gave up and installed these! Wide-screen, stable, high resolutions, perfect! I was so happy fans decided to get them running again!
- Comment on What are some game series you would like to see revived? And if possible, which entry should the new game follow from? 1 year ago:
A friendly reminder to everyone: there is a fan project, part 1 and 2 updated to run on modern systems. They have their own page, the full games can be downloaded from there, and they just work. Just Google the title and fan update.

Oh man, I hope so!
I prefer their games over anything Bethesda/Diablo/whatever stuff.
Their games, as clunky and weird they sometimes are, have soul and passion. I’m playing Risen 2 at the moment, and I just love the world. So much too see, every corner has something to find, even if it’s just a bottle of Rum.

This is one of those movies where you can examine a scene and immediately have ideas how to improve it, be it dialogue, a cut, or maybe pacing. I enjoyed the movie, but like I said before, in a weird way.
It definitely was interesting.
- Comment on Madame Web | A look at what went so incredibly, fascinatingly wrong 1 year ago:
The deja vu train scene was well done, everything before and after was a chain of missed opportunities. What a weird experience this was.

I lowered the difficulty, and I were able to kill bigger enemies with the weapon of my choice. But they became bullet sponges. There’s no fun in that. I too prefer 2016, I like my shotgun.
