Shooter games? Counter strike can be played offline with bots and it’s free. Aimlabs is made specifically to improve aim, also free. Faster paced strategy games like Dota 2 also requires accuracy to click on monsters and enemies and can be played offline with bots and it’s free.
More story-oriented games of course could also work. StarCraft, company of heroes, command and conquer, age of empires, etc. For shooters there’s tons, but many have gore…you can try portal or slime rancher but I was playing doom and Wolfenstein and stuff like that when I was like 10 and whatever as did many of us…but well…not here to give parenting advice, shouldn’t listen to me.

That’s most likely made by whoever is taking care of the tree. They sometimes rot cause of some disease so the rotten part is taken out. I’ve seen some that were so large and had such big pieces missing that they looked as if they were two trees that fused together. Pretty cool.

Looks like an olive tree. They all have those twisty trunks. They’re pretty cool. They’re somehow trying to follow the movements of the earth and apparently that’s what’s causing the weirdness.

Even DotA itself was inspired by Aeon of Strife which was a StarCraft map. There were a few AOS-like maps at the time but DotA became the most popular. Then Riot came along and approached an ex DotA designer to help them make a successor. They also approached the owner of dota-allstars.com which at the time was the main site for DotA. Discussions, hero suggestions, fan art, pretty much anything dota related was there. Then, the owner, Fuck Pendragon, took the entire site down and replaced it with a LoL ad. Ofc all those hero suggestions were taken and implemented into LoL without crediting the creators. A few years later he also tried to use blizzard to sue valve for the dota rights but blizz and valve settled it out of court without him.

A friend used to spend time sneaking + auto walking into a door behind which was an npc. He did that to level up the sneaking skill…
Meh… these types of tricks are interesting to discover, but boring to use, imo. If you’re gonna play that way imo just use cheats to max whatever skills you want. Less time wasted and more time left to enjoy the game.

More of a cultural thing, I think. From what I’ve gathered from a friend that lives in the Netherlands the dutch are pretty serious about paying for their own meals and getting people to pay for theirs. I even remember seeing a sketch made by some dutch people where one gives a bite of their sandwich to a coworker or something and then they tell the coworker that they’re owed x amount for it.

Vice city has a chest code that makes cars fly. Although it’s more like leapfrog because you need to accelerate in order for the game to push you up to fly.
So when I was a kid I used to get the tank and turn the gun around and shoot it and use it as a propeller for infinite flying.

Depends what you mean by recent. I’m not even someone that plays with music, unless it’s an rpg or some other genre with a lot of talking, I just turn it off because I prefer listening to my own music.
But to answer your question, world of warcraft, Baldur’s gate3, clair obscur, Stardew valley, tropico 6, doom, hotline Miami, pretty much all the supergiant games, outer wilds, Cuphead, celeste, witcher 3, ac black flag + odyssey (fucking love those shanties).
And that’s just off the top of my head and from games I’ve played. I’m sure there’s tons more.

Most european countries, I think? At least that’s how I’d write it. And I’d use $ cause it’s just easier for people to understand the value and cause for most keyboards the euro sign is slightly less comfy to use.

Yeah, that’s fair enough about Subnautica. Might be worth trying with a trainer or something to just bypass the grinding and still experience the rest, tho.
As for outer wilds… Definitely worth giving it a shot, imo. The first bit is indeed a bit long, but shouldn’t be longer than an hour, tbh. And after that the game autosaves quite often and even when you quit, afaik. Should be more than fine for short sessions.

Alien: isolation? Pretty good horror game, imo. SOMA? Subnautica can be pretty scary,. especially for people with thalassophobia or however it’s spelled… Outer wilds? Not horror, but it is quite unsettling. Also an all around amazing game that everyone should experience, imo.

Nah, not everything is political. You can make everything political, however. The comment above is a case in point.

That’s because there’s always someone bringing politics into casual conversations and it’s tiresome. Yes the world is fucked, most of us here are well aware. Let us enjoy some escapism every now and then, maybe.

They’re all cool if you’re into the games or whatever they cover, imo. Having books on stuff that you’re not familiar with feels weird, imo. Google Books covering your favourite games and stuff and I’m sure you’ll find plenty. But if you don’t care about that and just want cool gamer stuff to put on the coffee table, The Game Console 2.0: A Photographic History from Atari to Xbox might be one of those. There’s a LOTR illustrated edition. There’s a tomb raider cookbook and travel guide. World of warcraft also has tons of cool art and a cookbook. There’s God of war lore and legends. There’s The Art of Video Games from pacman to mass effect, etc. And for more, there’s This site.

That’s part of it and it’s probably part of the staying power, sure. But I’m pretty sure it exploded before it started doing that. Iirc, quite soon after release, Ninja became one of the most popular streamers on twitch, breaking records and stuff and he even did a stream with Drake which at the time was the biggest stream ever. People were speculating even then that maybe epic paid Drake, but well… could just as easily have been just Drake being Drake.
As for why it got popular in the first place… I think it’s just being at the right time in the right place. There was Minecraft hunger games, h1z1, PUBG and probably a few other smaller ones. They were all quite popular and then Fortnite came along and made it more accessible and arguably more fun and stuff as well. A few of my friends used to try pretty much all the popular games, especially shooters. And besides CS, Fortnite was definitely the one that kept them engaged the longest. That’s just anecdotal, but well… if it worked on us, it’s probably worked on many.

Unfortunately it is. People fucking suck. Don’t believe me? Go for a walk in a place where litter stands out like a beach or a hiking trail. Or in a supermarket (barely any litter, but items abandoned by shoppers that changed their mind about buying said items)

The looting you can skip with cheats. Technically you can skip a lot of traveling that way as well. But That’s a bit part of the game, imo. If you don’t enjoy spending time in the game, then all you want to do is shoot people? There’s better games for that.
