Destiny 2. Its such a toothless, soulless game. There’s no message, no meaningful story since its a live service, nothing changes in the world as far as i can tell, the themes are all over the place, and, this one is personal, the artstyle is so sterile and corporate. There’s no bite, no edge, nothing that hooks me in to this world. Sure the gunplay is good, but the gameplay is bogged down by just bloated rpg mechanics and loot mechanics, and i need more than gunplay, i need an interesting atmosphere or characters. Risk of Rain is a good example of having great gameplay, mixed with a great atmosphere and intriguing world. Its darkly humorous, it’s over the top, its lonely at times, it has bite and character.

Straftat, its fun, i recommend getting 1 to 3 friends to play it with. Feels like old school fps games, like goldeneye free for all but with sliding.

Elite Dangerous. Beautiful game, wonderful atmosphere, fun flight model, but so so tedious and grindy. It wouldn’t be so bad if they expanded the gameplay loop some, but its been markedly the same since launch minus a few attachments stapled on. I do hear that there is an actual update thats adding a new mission type that actually combines multiple forms of gameplay, so i might check that out when it comes out.

The amount of birds that actually get killed by wind turbines has always been dubious at best. And having been next to a wind turbine, they really aren’t that noisy.

As someone who grew up with both, I always found classic Sonic better than Classic mario. I guess that carried over because I like Sonic and Sega far more than Mario and Nintendo. Sonic is just too cool.

When a game rereleases with an enhanced version or remake and it ruins the atmosphere. Been playing SMT Strange Journey Redux, and the new artstyle feels so generic and bland compared to the OG Strange Journey. The original had this kind of dark and oppressive atmosphere that Redux is sort of missing. Its really minor, since Redux does add a ton of stuff, so its probably still the better way to play, but that original tone just isnt the same.

I love Half Life 1, more than Half Life 2, infact. Until the platforming. A small amount of platforming is fine, especially if its optional and used to give you more options in a combat scenario. But when you NEED to make precision jumps with the floaty controls, its very frustrating. I usually stop after Surface Tension.

I mean, I’ve watched gameplay of it, watched friends play it and it doesn’t look appealing to me. It looks like Assassins Creed with somewhat better combat.

I love Doom 3, but I totally get what you’re saying. Dead Space is for sure like a better version of Doom 3. But I have a soft spot for personally and I love the sci fi environments and world building.

Oh man, yeah the hit reg and combat physics in Bethesda games are awful. At least Morrowind had good RPG elements, I would rather have that DND style of combat than what Oblivion and Skyrim have done with theirs.
