A couple interesting ideas in here.
The way we teach federalists vs anti-federalists in America always focuses on the anti-federalists desire for individual freedom and states rights. This is framed as protection of freedom and we don’t call out that it’s really a proxy for protection of individual property and wealth, even though it’s right there under our nose, particularly with how conservatives use states rights as a cudgel. They get you with the patriotic feels that all of our individual freedoms are being protected, so you ignore the wealth disparity.
Also, that the senate and supreme court are institutional oligarchy in that power is limited to a few. Particularly with how much influence the supreme court has and you think about that being only 9 people and a decision can be made by only 5. It takes away the power of the masses. Add to that the fact that they’ve capped the number of reps in the house and your voice is more and more diluted.

I know it’s an American vs other English speaking countries thing, but as an American I can honestly never remember which one we are. I always used to look it up, but now I just shoot from the hip and assume I’m right, which feels the most American way to approach it.

Sure. In the bigger cities sometimes. More often we’ll say convenience stores, bodegas or just use the chain store name like 7-11. But corner store gets used often enough even if the stores aren’t actually on corners

According to lore, we know it can sing you a song. So naturally, the top half must be the man and the bottom half is piano

Back when the internet was new and it wasn’t clear why every business would need a website, pringles was one that stood out to me as completely unnecessary. There’s no direct sales and there’s no pringles news to speak of. Turns out they had a bunch of fun little mini games on there. In short, I probably need to check the status of my pringles.com account…

There was a time in this country where people wrote movies that had stories so you cared whose ass it was and why it was farting, and I believe that time can come again!
