- Comment on TrekMovie.com: Patrick Stewart Reveals New Star Trek Movie Script Featuring Jean-Luc Picard Is In The Works 11 months ago:
S03 was the movie we never got, they just need to leave this one alone. It’s most likely being talked about because Picard S03 got the best ratings of all the new Trek shows. But it was already quite a perfect ending. We don’t need another Picard movie, Trek needs to continue on the small screen with #StarTrekLegacy.
- Comment on Apple Discusses Push Towards High-End Mac Gaming in New Interview 11 months ago:
Gaming on macs was always dependent on apple opening up their walled garden to cooperations. The one with Nvidia on the GPU front failed, Intel couldn’t deliver on good CPU’s. Maybe apple should build a superefficient gaming-mac, but the question is who wants to game on a Mac with s9ldwred parts, when they can have a device that they can upgrade every year?

create a new studio, hire them back.
- Comment on Bethesda confirms they are working on releasing new features you asked for, from city maps, to mod support, to all new ways of traveling next year for Starfield 1 year ago:
It’s nice Bethesda wants to pull a Cyberpunk, but Starfield at it’s core just isn’t as good. I’m all for some redeeming updates though, because at least there would be something to come back to
- Comment on What the hell is this shit? Instead of pushing for the return to traditional pensions, capitalism is celebrating the idea that Millennials & Gen Z may simply never be able to stop working. 1 year ago:
Wow what a boomer article. Most young people just don’t expect the current systems and institutions to last that long. Millenials have lived through several financial crises and economic downturns with no chance for improvement in sight. It just gets worse until the generation responsible for it dies out.
So I’d much rather live in the now making memories of adventures and good times with friends as long as i’m able to, than have a bit more money in the bank that won’t be worth shit when i’m old. Peace of mind is great and all but the future is an illusion you can never fully prepare for.
- Comment on JK Rowling prefers two years in jail over using correct pronouns 1 year ago:
TLDR; all Britons can say what they want and express themselves freely, unless it breaks any laws or harms another person.
Isn’t this a classic “freedom of speech” vs. “anti-discrimination-laws” case? Unless the laws in the UK change anytime soon, J.K. very well has the right to talk how she pleases in the confines of the law. She also can’t be forced to change her vocabulary and shouldn’t be afraid to be bullied if she doesn’t. Whatever you may think about her, this always has to goes both ways:
Under Article 10 of the Human Rights Act 1998, “everyone has the right to freedom of expression” in the UK. The law goes on to say that this freedom “may be subject to formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society".
In 2010 the UK also passed a law protecting it’s citizens from “discrimination, harassment and victimization.”
If it could be proven that J.K. harmed somebody by her speech, she could be liable for damages. At that point she could also sue back, having the most likely bigger budget than most people.
- Comment on Cities: Skylines 2 devs warn players of performance problems: 'we have not achieved the benchmark we targeted' 1 year ago:
true, but that doesn’t mean it was cheap.
- Comment on Cities: Skylines 2 devs warn players of performance problems: 'we have not achieved the benchmark we targeted' 1 year ago:
Usually that means: We didn’t hire enough devs for optimization, didn’t allocate enough time for it and prioritized marketing.
- Comment on Microsoft expected to finally buy Activision Blizzard next week 1 year ago:
The logical question here is: will COD be in gamepass? otherwise what’s the point of this takeover.
- Comment on Windows Updated and is Pushing More Stuff 1 year ago:
That pops up on every feature update on win11. But you’re on the preview channel which is known to push and test experimental features. I’d suggest you unenroll your device if stuff like more ads for 365 or missing features for testing purposes bug you. Microsoft even regularly roll out one feature for a percentage of testers and take it away from the rest, just to see what happens.
- Comment on Is there a more politically conservative part of the fediverse? 1 year ago:
You’re already contributing to a balanced discussion. keep at it and be the change you want to see. I feel the whole “belonging to a camp” thing in terms of opinions and politics is too simplistic thinking. Some people like myself happen to have opinions that will range across the political spectrum. Let’s say a very political person starts a conversation, but is swapped out for someone else from their “camp”; Isn’t it boring to know all the talking points and opinions are the same? Imo that’s detrimental to free thinking and learning to accept other viewpoints. The thought in politics is that we must all agree on all of our camps points or be chastised for not complying, also we must make the other side see that our side was correct all along otherwise our side will loose. Nah fuck that, let’s just learn to have conversations with a variety of opinions first.

- Comment on British people increasingly recognise Brexit is a mistake – so why the silence? 1 year ago:
About a million britons moved to europe in 2020 alone. That’s an insane brain-drain and capital leaving the country. At the same time immigration to the UK and working as a non UK citizen has been made harder. The long-term effects will be felt 5-10 years from now and millenials + zoomers will be the ones paying for the boomer’s choices. I don’t know any official numbers since 2020 but the majority of people leaving the UK settled in Germany or Spain.
