Well you can’t know how somebody else feels. You can take your best guess. But there is no way to actually know, without asking them. Empaths think they know how somebody feels and to them it’s a fact that this person must feel that way, In actuality they could be completely way off because what they are doing is imagining how the other person feels based on how they would feel in the same situation, which might not be true of the other person. So even though they have empathy, they are not an empath, such things can’t exist without the ability to mind read, and there’s no proof that anybody can do that.

I think the point of this is you can’t know how they feel, only assume. Empaths assume and then trust their assumption so much they believe it to be fact.

America ain’t the only ones helping aid the genocide in Palestine either. But things would be much worse for everyone with trump in charge. Americans have a choice and unfortunately neither of them are good but one is magnitudes worse than the other, neither with stop the genocide in Palestine, one will get 100s of thousands of more people killed, not to mention make the lives of thousands of people more difficult when they become persecuted by their own government, it will strip women of their rights and cause chaos around the globe

They can’t defend themselves if you take their support away which is what trump wants to do. So instead of one genocide you have two.

We should definitely commit genocide in Ukraine then. They are barely accepted in America either and stand no chance if you let trump and the Christian fascists win.

So you want the genocide of Ukraine, think rape is ok, think the persecution of LGBTQ people is just fine? Because that’s how you are coming across
- Comment on Who all is out there, setting different sensitivities for X and Y on their mouse settings? Does anybody actually do this? 8 months ago:
I have used them, mainly FPS games. I also have built in functionality to change my mouse sensitivity in my mouse. There’s a “sniper mode” button as well that will change the sensitivity whilst the button is pressed to allow me to be more precise (not that I use that as I don’t play many games like that)
I used the separate x and y options when I was using a tracker ball once. It went slower vertical than it did horizontally so being able to change them individually was a huge help.
Other people that might make use of this feature (and perhaps even render a game unplayable without it) is disabled people, I don’t have experience here, but it’s not hard to imagine use cases, poor hand mobility, limited reach etc.

I mean you see other people for a matter of seconds as you pass them on the trail, maybe give a head nod or a quite hello and keep going. Going out of your way to avoid this seems extreme behavior that probably means you need help.
- Comment on Tethered plastic caps 9 months ago:
Perhaps it’s the make of the bottle the ones I’ve seen (mainly coke zero and iron bru) don’t seem to get in the way, dangle or inconvenience me. The only awkwardness is closing the bottle again, you need to give it a little tug to align it right before closing it. I have to trust that if it even stops 1% of the damage we are doing to the planet then a little awkwardness is acceptable. Because every little helps. I could easily argue they are not doing enough elsewhere before inconveniencing me, but at the same time we all should be doing everything we can to turn back the damage we are doing to the planet, we all live here afterall. Unfortunately not everyone thinks that way so we need to attach bottle tops and drink through paper straws.
- Comment on Tethered plastic caps 9 months ago:
Pour it from the opposite side to where the cap is attached. That way the awkwardness of pouring the liquid over the attached cap is a none issue. I can only assume that’s what you’ve been trying to do.

I mean you can also get reusable metal straws the same as a reusable vape.

Life’s only hard because of exploitation. It doesn’t have to be, things need to change.

If they manage to get past that, you should attach a paint can to some rope and have it rigged to swing towards them if they are coming up the stairs.

You know you’re not paying for “no ads” right? You’re simply using an alternative payment method. If somebody can’t afford something you’re suggesting we exclude them? Make it paid for only? The ads serve as payment for those without the means or are just unwilling to pay and still get the same options as everyone else. For someone that hates capitalism you’re sure good at preaching it.

It does seem like a large number of Lemmy users are elitist snobs. I thought this place was turning out better than Reddit, but it’s looking like I was wrong. People like that ruin platforms like this and sour the experience.
