Snowrunner! Take everything at your own pace, drive around in some beautiful and horrible to drive in sceneries, get paid and upgrade and buy more trucks

- Comment on What is your happiest Trek related memory/ies? 2 weeks ago:
In 2004 one of my computer games came with a couple of Star Trek demos.
There was Star Trek Armada, a real time strategy where you command a fleet of starships and mine dilithium and protect against waves or borg cubes as you built more units and buildings. Probably the very first real time strategy I had ever played. Spent a good chunk of my summer playing that. It only came with one level (Premonitions) which I played every which way.
The second demo game was Star Trek Hidden Evil, an isometric puzzle adventure third person game where you played as Ensign Sobok and had to find Captain Picard, who has been trapped by some clan at an excavation site. There were some invisible dudes that would ambush you so you had to fire at them quickly with the phaser.
Those were my first and happiest memories with Star Trek

Experienced it in Helldivers 2, rocket league, cs:go, Sea of Thieves…

Gosh i wish i could experience what you’ve just described. I’ve never had that when gaming online. Sounds like a dream haha

If your voice is higher pitched then you just get abused by players for sounding feminine or not manly. If you’re a woman, you’re lucky if you don’t get harassed. If you speak up for people being harassed, everyone will stop and gang up on you.
I no longer connect a mic to the computer I play online games on because it just isn’t worth it.

Love VTOL vr but haven’t touched it since getting a nice civ aviation sim (not Microsoft).
The virtual controls are very nice in VTOL but nothing beats an actual yoke and throttle and rudder pedals

XPlane 12 and Aerofly FS4. They don’t need always on internet and the loading times are measured in seconds, not tens of minutes+

If you want a functional flight simulator that doesn’t require you constantly online , try out XPlane or Aerofly FS4. These games will work even if Microsoft puts out another steaming pile of shit in the next 4 years.

Roblox. It’s a game but also a platform in a sense. It’s full of kids running around yelling racial slurs, kicking users with dark coloured avatars, and lots of far right content. It is like a grade school run by 4chan.

More! I watched Lower Decks which was a fun spin on the whole thing and I’m making my way through Discovery still.

On Reddit way back when, I joined a trek sub as I’ve wanted to get into Star Trek but found the 90s shows too dry (early 2000s video games however, 👌). Posted about how I was really enjoying Picard and got RIPPED to shreds in the comments. No actual death threats but a bunch of people called me intellectually challenged and one combed through my post history to point out why exactly I was so cognitively bankrupt haha
- Comment on Where to start? 5 weeks ago:
I started with Picard then Strange New Worlds then Discovery.
I’ll take my downvotes and death threats now.

Don’t let them win by giving up spaces they go to. The overall majority of blue sky that I’ve seen has been pretty similar to Lemmy/Mastodon in terms of general content. Make a Nazi cry, don’t let them kick you out of your spaces.
They are incompatible with society and it’s time they’re made to feel that way.

So you bring an external mouse with your steamdeck? If that works for ya, more power to you.
Sometimes I need to pop quickly into the desktop so for my use case, bringing an external mouse would definitely inconvenience me. That’s when the trackpads come in handy.

If you ever boot into desktop mode they’re essential (at least in my use case). Using thumb sticks for a mouse is so painful.

I agree with you. The pace of crafting to progress is slow. The story forces you to uncover it by exploring further and deeper. The distress calls nudge you in the right directions.
My last playthrough I was determined to beat the game. It took 50 hours and at the end I got frustrated because just when I thought I was at the end, they wanted me to grind even more for some hard to craft materials which would require me to dive far and deep and look for things while things were dangerous.
Exhausted, I used a single console command to give myself the thing I didn’t want to grind for and bam. Completed. The games a marathon. It’s entertaining, scary, interesting, and tedious. I’m not interested in any sequels.

Not the case for everyone. I’m regularly throttled watching a long 4k movie on Netflix or trying to download a big game from Steam.

My ISP will automatically throttle my house if I was slurping up that much bandwidth. It simply isn’t feasible for most people as ISPs usually throttle speeds when they detect sustained high bandwidth activity.
