  So, did we forget to post a link or is Lemmy really at the point that a random unofficial image is a source of information?

  I searched it and found a Verge article that appears to be the source of this image.

  What a nothing article though. The logo design I am pretty sure is a Verge artistic interpretation, with the actual changes being updating UI elements to share a similar language with the Copilot app, which just so happens to look like every other modern interface and very similar to the base Windows 11 design. The biggest change being a ChatGPT/Copilot-esque newtab search bar.

    I’ve actually made this mistake. If the article doesn’t load the thumbnail and you try to be nice and load it manually, and you do it just wrong enough, you will turn your link post into an image post. With certain clients, it’s fairly visually confusing.

  I do genuinely want Microsoft to keep digging in the AI hole. I don’t want any of their products to be good. I hope they fail.

    They’re doing that themselves. An E5 M365 license gave you a home page where you could access web versions of all the office apps (word, PowerPoint, excel). All the things an office worker would need.

    Now the home page is copilot. All the sidebar buttons are copilot agents.

    It’s only when you scroll down all the way and click the tiny “all apps” button at the bottom do you find a place where all the office apps are.

    I’ve never seen such stupidity and bad design in such a huge product.

    True absolute morons are at the helm.

  While I agree that copilot is AI slop garbage, this article is kinda rage baiting… Like, who gives a fuck if they redesign the UI… It’s what they do every few years. This isn’t about copilot replacing edge. It’s not even about microslop adding more AI to the browser (although they probably will). This is specifically about a new design language. Take the AI out of the equation and the redesign isn’t all that controversial.
