Biden isn’t quite as bad as the soundbites make him seem, but he is slowing down (physically and mentally) in his old age and was just generally an extremely uninspiring candidate. Trump, if anything is worse than you portray. He’s way more senile than Biden, in addition to the blatant corruption, rulebreaking, childishness, and being horrifically and openly racist and sexist. Literally no decent and reasonable person who is paying the slightest attention to what he says and does would think he is remotely qualified for any position of authority. The fact that he is polling roughly evenly with an extremely qualified and intelligent person like Kamala Harris is indeed an absolute clownshow.

Wait, fallout 4 didn’t do the ending slideshow? That’s an iconic part of the series! I’m so glad I stopped buying Bethesda games.
- Comment on Why is there no true Progressive party in America right now? 8 months ago:
This is an important part of it. The other part is the fact that success in politics is very hard without money, and most rich people aren’t progressives.

Lol, no one’s putting a gun to people’s heads to make them act bigoted. If your response to being accused of racism is “Oh, yeah? I’ll show you racism!” then you’re just showing your true colors.

Maybe this isn’t the case in your neighborhood but my local grocery stores have racks of gift cards, including for Steam. I know people who have similar concerns as your dad, so they just buy Steam credit for themselves.

Is this hypothetical artist an Israeli settler in the West Bank? If so, I certainly would not give them my money. Othwrwise, if we’re just talking about some random Israeli then there’s nothing inherently objectionable about that.

I’m not quite old enough to have played it on release, but I think you’re right that System Shock was a game with a lot of amazing ideas that was limited by the technology of the day. I was very happy to see such an authentic remake, which was clearly made by people who cared deeply about the source material.

Interesting that you interpret leaning to peek around corners as a modern convenience when it actually was in the original. The portrait in the top left of the original UI shows the player’s current posture.

US conservatives lost the war against homosexuality and so they needed to move on to a new target that didn’t have as much mainstream acceptance (yet). There is no good reason for their hatred other than that the fundamental purpose of conservatism is to divide the world between a privileged in-group and a marginalized out-group.

Many disabled people are unable to drink without straws.

In socialist analysis, there are really only two classes: the working class and the capitalist class. The difference is that the capitalist receive passive income from their legal ownership of the means of production and while they may choose to do some sort of work, they are not dependent on their pay for survival.
The idea of the “middle class” is a relatively recent invention which in this analysis serves to divide the workers by giving some of them the impression that they are higher status than others while still leaving them subordinate to the capitalists.

I would suggest something like “These products were found to have health risks.”
