- Comment on All cheap smartphones have a fingerprint sensor but all laptops dont have one. Why? 1 week ago:
It is actually quite nice. You sudo something in the terminal and can just swipe your finger to the reader without needing to type your password.

Did they get all the MM1 levels somewhere? There are some true classics that would be really sad to lose…

It was great to watch all these runs on twitch. Now if Nintendo would just release an open source version of the server and all the content people have created…

You can also very easily run the bridges yourself if you don’t trust them. I do so in my homelab, it was 10 minutes of work setting it all up. Super stable, and e2e from my side.
For me their value proposition is their new beta android app which is the best Android matrix client, and their quite fast matrix server. That might change in the future when conduit is fast enough…

thab’s been trying to beat “The Last Dance” for a few days already, it’s really fascinating to watch. And even barb finished one level, then said “fuck this garbage” and spent the next days finishing Paper Mario and complaining how boring it is…
It’s been a few good weeks on Twitch…

I’ve been in an interview and the hiring manager wanted to have a call in Teams. Didn’t take that job.

It comes with the Office subscription. People who choose it are not the ones using it daily.
- Comment on HBO Max is removing features from my plan without reducing my price. 6 months ago:
I use Plex for music because it is very good there, but Jellyfin for movies/tv which I like more for that kind of content.

A great UI to stream your movie files from your TV. A bit like Plex, but open source.
- Comment on The Yngwie Malmsteen Interview : Rick Beato 6 months ago:
All Beato interviews are pure gold. He lets the people talk and be relaxed. And gets the best out of usually hard to interview people, such as Yngwie or Billy Corgan.

Well, Brittany Murphy is also dead and I don’t really think King of the Hill is the same without Luanne either.
- Comment on TIL Mike Judge created Boomhauer's voice based on a disgruntled viewer's voice mail that he couldn't understand. The voice mail was left during the Beavis and Butthead days. Here is a link to that ... 9 months ago:
This puts me to binge watch the whole series again. Probably my fifth rewatch… Such a great series.
- Comment on I'm aware of kbin, mastodon, and lemmy. Are there any other federated applications out there? 9 months ago:
Implements ActivityPub and you can do Twitter-like messaging and you can define the makimum length of the text. The client API is the same as with Mastodon, so you can use any Mastodon app with it, or even run the Mastodon web frontend.
It is written in Elixir instead of Ruby, so it is much faster than Mastodon. Supports quoting and emoji reactions like Misskey does.

Akkoma is also very stable and much faster than Mastodon.

- Comment on ‘The Bear’ Feasts in Streaming Rankings 9 months ago:
When the kitchen starts to work in the last episode of Season 2, it’s such a magical moment. When Sydney manages the orders with a calm voice, followed by Richie, it’s just wow. And some chaos happens, people yell, the camera moves to the dining hall and everything suddenly changes to something calm and relaxing. Some very long shots too with the camera, which you only notice when you rewatch the episodes.
