- Comment on With all this talk about Ai not being profitable why aren't we using it in video games? I dont mean replacing developers I mean in NPCs in the game. I make them more realistic. 1 week ago:
There actually is a semi-working system for Skyrim/Fallout art-from-the-machine.github.io/Mantella/
Also not all LLMs are Nazi machines, I almost exclusively use abilerated models and I’ve never once had it go on a nazi tirade.
Though I mostly use it for Linux/code or random home assistant projects, not as a conversation.

My wife surprisingly loved Divinity Original Sin 1/2 can be played on controller splitscreen or M/kb

That’s actually one of my favorite parts, it’s like a feed into itself incentive for my already packrat tendencies.
Now instead of just taking all their weapons/armor/clothes to sell, the random junk is also useful for when I get back home and can upgrade the town, my weapons, or my armor!

Neither does trans surgery?

Wonder how hard it’d be to take one of those cheaper canvas paintings off amazon or w/e and stuff em with some dampening
- Comment on Pet Peeves with Games? 2 weeks ago:
In theory this is really cool, but unless you really get into a game and are willing to replay, it just feels bad as a player missing content because of a timer you didn’t know about.

Red roses too?

I have watched MC youtube for 15 years (MindCrack and then HermitCraft) and there has been no pedo allegations
- Comment on Anon tries to understand credit scores 5 weeks ago:
I hqd a score of 800 after about 8 years starting from a $200 secured card I got after moving states with my gf and living our lives working at restaurants.
You don’t have to be rich to get a good score, it’s about habits and debt load.
- Comment on Anon enjoys Minecraft 5 weeks ago:
I didn’t assume the post was talking about pedos specifically, moreso just seemed like how non-gamers think people who play video games are childish and moreso when it’s a kid-friendly game like mc.

Iskal wasn’t a child thing, still gross

True, I had to set Adguard Home as my dhcp as my modem didn’t have a DNS adjustment option

If you have pihole, the ads would be blocked on your tv too lol
- Comment on 'Huge respect to the folks at Obsidian': Todd Howard invited Obsidian devs onto Fallout season 2's set so they could see New Vegas in the flesh 1 month ago:
3 was the first one I ever played (after Oblivion tho to your beth point) and it was so radically different from anything I played before that I just fell in love.
New Vegas didn’t capture that same feeling in me, I like it but it just didn’t hit me the same way.
Fallout 4 I enjoyed a ton because of the base building and refinements on scrap usage for modifications and such, with mods like Sim Settlements it can be so damn cool.

- Comment on Indie game developers have a new sales pitch: being ‘AI free’ 2 months ago:
I think Lemmy in particular has a bad problem of assumed group think, it makes sense since most of us left prior platforms for freedom and decentralization reasons, stuff like boycotting major companies, switching to Linux, etc all of that is much less prevalent then some very vocal people on Lemmy think.
I’m glad you had a different experience, but I see AI use increasing all around me by otherwise nontechy people, whereas I get on Lemmy and you know what the majority of the opinion is here.
- Comment on Indie game developers have a new sales pitch: being ‘AI free’ 2 months ago:
No, it’s “you all seem to think everyone else also hates AI, but they don’t” it was directly in response to the comment “no one wants AI slop.”
- Comment on Indie game developers have a new sales pitch: being ‘AI free’ 2 months ago:
I’m not even advocating, I’m just trying to inform you people who are clearly in a bubble thinking everyone hates AI, they don’t and that became crystal clear at my recent family gatherings as the one tech guy.
- Comment on Indie game developers have a new sales pitch: being ‘AI free’ 2 months ago:
Ah yes hand waive away everything you don’t like as idiots who deny vaccines and the moon landing.
I am talking about normal normies, not fringe conspiracy normies.
- Comment on Indie game developers have a new sales pitch: being ‘AI free’ 2 months ago:
Y’all don’t realize how much of a bubble you’re in on the anti - AI front, the vast majority of normies are catching on and use genAI
