But then social media makes it a woman vs man thing instead of focusing on how it exemplifies how fucking horrible our medical system is.

One thing, in the threadiverse it’s generally called a community rather than a “sublemmy”, the urls use /c/.
Though unfortunately I’m not aware of a specific community to request communities, usually the answer around here is “be the change you want to see”, if you want one, try making/running one, maybe it’ll catch on 🤷.
One thing though is its going to be difficult to host something like that on any instance and it remain neutral lol.

I think it’s because it’s much more visible in boomers as they’re more likely to be gambling in casinos whereas I’d bet (ha) the majority of betting is online these days.
Go into any casino and see what the age distribution is, in my experience the majority are boomers.

Yeah, it’s hard, it’s not like you’re wrong that driving while baked is more dangerous then sober, but to your point I think the way our infrastructure is built where pedestrians are an afterthought if thought about at all, definitely contributes to make it even more dangerous.
I wish we had more walkable/bike-friendly locations, it’s just not super likely given how large the US is

That’s honestly a very odd reaction, for what it’s worth I meant it lightheartedly.
Of course I think pedestrians and cyclists also deserve safety.
I would like to point out however that a majority of incidents are drunk drivers who do not already have a device like that in their car, so it’s a tad bit absurd to indicate your hard line for legalization is that when it would only apply after the fact anyway.
