The exploration is somewhat lacking. Naturally they depend on mods to fix their issues. There are a lot of locations but only a handful unique locations to explore that they scatter around planets/moons and just repeat the same layout.

I enjoyed it for what it was on release to be honest. I have a pretty high tolerance for imperfections in games though and grew up with the elder scrolls/fallout/Bethesda games so I’m more than used to loading screen, enter room, loading screen, exit room, loading screen, change area, loading screen, etc etc…
If you do play, without spoiling anything, there is a “mechanic” that is pretty much dependant on new game plus. Basically if you want to get stronger through this specific system then I wouldn’t waste time base building or whatever because those things will just be lost in the new game plus. Can just beat the story a few times, or just once to see what it’s all about, and then “settle down” in a playthrough to do all the base stuff.

I thought I was in the minority with this opinion. I hate all the known issues with AI and the ethics in how they train, but I have to say having an AI in a game is really really cool.
There was a time when (I think it was chatgpt) had free API access and this game spacebourne 2 integrated it into your ships computer so you could interact with it. It was very cool, very wrong at times, but still very cool. My favorite interaction was unfortunately a hallucination. I asked it what system I was in and it gave me a name of a system that does exist in the game, it just wasn’t where I was. I asked why my map said I was somewhere else and it says “your map must be incorrect” lol

I was “lucky” enough to have my privilege put in plain english during a job interview. I’m white and this guy literally says “it so hard to find a clean cut white guy for this job, I don’t want some Dominican walking into a customers store with our logo on.” If I was not white I would not have gotten that job.
But yes, as you say, I’m stuck working in a factory right now with shitty air quality, I’ve been single for almost a decade, have severe anxiety and depression, and am fairly poor. Still doesn’t mean I don’t have privilege for simply being white. :/

I know he’s making predictions, but too many times he says x,y,z will happen because it’s their only choice when it isn’t. A student even asked him why can’t the US just claim victory and back out and he claims the entire economy would collapse and Iran would become the leader of the Middle East. Major doubt there. Another time he mentioned Israel wants the us to collapse so they can be the big dog in the middle east, but again, how does that make and sense? Israel can just keep using us as they have been forever to do their heavy lifting and keep shoveling money at them.
I find his videos are like 70% nodding in agreement or at least saying ok that make a bit of sense and 30% like what the actual fuck man, stop watching YouTube conspiracy videos…

That’s a tough one because there isn’t an expression there at all, it’s almost completely “blank” or neutral. There isn’t anything that would hint towards enjoyment to say it’s peaceful or even calm. It seems almost like a deep sleep, I might even describe it as “a sleep so deep they were devoid of expression.”
