I think the intention was sentient life as having Thanos stop the film to explain the terms and conditions of his snap would’ve impacted the pacing of the film.
- Comment on Nintendo, famed for hating emulation, likely using Windows PCs to emulate SNES games at its museum 4 weeks ago:
Is this news? Emulation has been supported in official capacities since the virtual NES in game cube Animal Crossing. There’s probably even earlier examples. The Wii virtual shop, the Switch has that classic games library and even those mini consoles.

I was raised in peak cereal advertising. I can spout off like 10 based on mascots alone.
- Comment on Steven Spielberg is ‘a big PC Gamer’ — loves shooters, and insists on keyboard and mouse 1 month ago:
As I get older I’ve grown to just appreciate comfort over precision. I don’t play competitive multiplayer, in fact the only multiplayer I play is COD zombies with some buddies once a week. And we all suck anyways so we’re just having a laugh. I’d much rather just lean back in my chair with a controller.

Yea it’s a totally fine Friday night watch. Just watching Brad and George riff on each other for 90 minutes is worth it.
- Comment on Why do phone manufacturers use in-display fingerprint readers instead of fingerprint readers on the power button? 1 month ago:
Biggest thing I miss about the old Pixels was this because you could swipe it to pull the notifications bar down. It worked system wide so you could during a game or video just pop it down to check time or settings and just flick it away.
- Comment on What's Your Favorite Blumhouse Movie? 1 month ago:
Don’t know if it really falls under Horror but Get Out is an obvious favorite.
Us, Split, Black Phone and Invisible Man are all pretty solid.
Freaky is more comedy than horror but it’s a lot of fun.
- Comment on Danish 'Speak No Evil' director hits out at remake for rewriting "entire ending": “I don’t know what it is about Americans" 1 month ago:
Eh, I’d rather the remake makes some chances, otherwise what’s the point of just doing the same thing again. Generally speaking the closer the remake is to the original the less value it adds. Sometimes these changes work and sometimes they don’t but I’d rather they take a swing. Like Psycho or Funny Games and Oldboy remakes are exactly like the original and feel completely pointless.

PSN account is free, you probably already have one if you owned one of the last 3 PlayStation consoles. There are paid add-ons if you want the multiplayer or the gamepass like subscription.

Yes, I think that is a different situation than what were referring to. Long term disability doesn’t fall under odd day here and there.
- Comment on Calling in healthy 2 months ago:
I don’t think I’ve ever had a job where I had to prove my sickness. I know that doesn’t apply to everyone but as long as you don’t abuse it, taking the odd day here and there doesn’t cause issues

Brother in carts 💪
All the people here saying “you’re creating work over overworked employees” has clearly never worked in a grocery. You’re creating breaks. The only exception is people who left them out at close time when you’re all going home. Those people can burn.

My nephew is stoked for this. All the grown ass adults getting bent out of shape about this need to relax.
- Comment on Posting the shopping cart theory because people had questions in a separate thread 2 months ago:
I was also a cart pusher for 3 or 4 years. It wasn’t my only task most of the time I was actually in the store bagging groceries. I loved cart pickup. It meant I could walk around the store parking lot, grab some fresh air and listen to some music. It was a cool little escape from the monotonous in store work and no one was really keeping an eye on me out there so I could take a little extra time.
I’m not weighing in on whether people should leave their carts out just adding some perspective that gathering them up wasn’t like this huge added labor, quite the opposite. If I wasn’t gathering carts I would’ve just been assigned to something much less enjoyable.

Personally I use the vinyl ones (left most in the thumbnail) for almost all common tasks. They spread a little when the screw goes in unlike the metal ones. I use the butterfly toggles for bigger jobs

My teacher in junior high threw on Jerry Maguire because we all remember it as a cute romcom with fun catch phrases. We all forget it starts with Tom Cruise going to pound town.
- Comment on How the fuck do you meet new people? 2 months ago:
Basically you have to bond over a game, be it physical, like sports or board like regular board games or as many people mentioned here D&D. For sports, regardless of your skill level, there’s a group. Beer leagues and such. Solo sports like mountain biking can work too but you have to be super consistent and really get into the sport where you have common ground.
If physical stuff is out of the question, then you have your board games. Even small towns have meetups.
The important thing is actually doing these. Friends don’t just come to you and you have to be consistent. Most people don’t just become friends in one or two seasons, it takes time and rapport building. And you can’t always wait for others to initiate the friends part. You might have to be the one that goes “hey wanna grab some wings after this.”
