Nothing you said contradicts the claim that HR people are class traitors. HR only cares about labor law so far as they can achieve management’s goals without landing the company in legal hot water. It’s absolutely not about any concern for the people themselves.

the service charge goes to the staff
Does it? Tips are legally protected and must go to staff, but I don’t think the same applies to “service charges”.

Oh please. There’s nothing strange going on with how McDonald’s food is prepared. A Big Mac is bun, two salt and peppered beef patties, American cheese, onions, lettuce, pickles, and a sauce that is basically thousand island dressing. It tastes fine if you like the combination of ingredients.

You’re making statements about sides based off what some unnamed “Israeli professor” allegedly said. Okay.

Oh, and they only defend the worst of the worst.
Naw, more likely people only hear about the most dramatic examples. The every-day, my boss is picking on me stuff rarely gets much attention and is generally resolved quietly.
Litteral thief, stealing, caught on camera, multiple times ? Well defend you tooth and nails. 'Til the management litterally had to get police involved for them to back down.
The severity of the accusation shouldn’t disqualify someone from their union defending them. Also, for a criminal matter, why didn’t they go the police to begin with?
- Comment on Amazon anti Union propaganda 1 year ago:
That’s because too many union members treat their union like a service being provided to them instead of something they’re providing for themselves. A union is what the members make it, and if people aren’t participating then yeah, it will probably suck.
- Comment on Amazon anti Union propaganda 1 year ago:
-
The amount paid for dues is greatly exceeded by the benefits of having a union.
-
You ARE guaranteed pay, benefits, and rules because you have a contract with the employer that covers those things.
-
Are these morons suggesting that the union will take over for management?

we are just putting up with being decentralized reddit.
What’s wrong with that? I didn’t have much issue with Reddit other than the corporate ownership/dick moves by corporate leadership.

When did the term “open source” start including specifics about licensing terms? My understanding from the past few decades was that “open source” meant the source was available for people to look at and compile.
- Comment on Why is everyone so giddy about the flooding thay happened at burning man? 1 year ago:
It’s like $400 for a ticket, and then the rest of the cost is getting there, food, water, shelter, etc. You can pay as little or as much as you want to accomplish those things. Plenty of people drive there and stayed in tents. I don’t see how it’s any different than camping for a few days.
- Comment on In the US, what happens if you sustain a life threatening injury and you don't have insurance? 1 year ago:
My parents went bankrupt like 4 times and it never seemed to make any difference to them. They’d just move on with life and have new credit debt racked up within a few months.
