Fuck dammit. The thieves are foreign born. You know that some people are going to home in on that and use it as proof that we need to reduce immigration and increase deportations, hopefully it will not be anyone too influential.

- Comment on 🚨 LUKA TRADED TO LAKERS 2 weeks ago:
Some team would still trade good pieces for him in hope of hanging up a banner and convincing him to stay. The Raptors tried to give Kawhi Stockholm Syndrome.
- Comment on 🚨 LUKA TRADED TO LAKERS 2 weeks ago:
Kyrie was a known asshole and diva, and the Mavs had no problem trading for him. The only way this makes sense is if tomorrow we find out Luka was point shaving.
- Comment on [WSJ] NBA player Terry Rozier has been investigated by federal prosecutors over whether he manipulated his performance as part of an illegal sports betting scheme 3 weeks ago:
From what I have seen, there was nothing yet about Rozier betting on games either directly or via a proxy. Just that there was an unusual number of betting on the under and Terry leaving the game early. The NBA investigated the issue and cleared him, so I wonder if it was someone other than him that caused the unusual betting pattern. For example, people on the team knew that he was hurting but wanted to see if he could play through it.
- Comment on Cade Cunningham will be the undisputed GOAT of the game when it's all said and done. 4 weeks ago:
I am curious about why you say that, since people arguing such things tend to bring up some super fun arguments. For example the case for Rodman being the GOAT.

I swear he and Steph Curry are not actually good at playing offense, they just hacked in an aim bot.
- Comment on After Era of Bloat, Veteran Video-Game Developers Are Going Smaller 3 months ago:
Uncharted and Last of Us are first party Sony games. If they were to say that a game can still be enjoyable without cutting edge graphics no one would want to buy the latest PlayStation iteration.
- Comment on GAME THREAD Tuesday 22-10-2024 Season Opening Night 3 months ago:
Maybe, but I could see the Celtics falling short due to lack of size. Even when everyone is healthy, the Celtics play only one big and two small forwards. Not that they have much of a choice since their two best forwards are Horford, who is too old to play big minutes, and Porzingis, who is injury prone. In the playoffs last year, the Celtics struggled to contain dominant bigs like Bam.

Why do you dislike Carter so much? What did he do to hurt the team?
- Comment on Rockets buying out AJ Griffin, retiring from basketball at 21 4 months ago:
I don’t follow teams outside of my local, so what is the story with Griffin? From a quick Google, I don’t see anything about a debilitating injury or serious off the court issues, just that he struggled to find a role in the NBA. Normally, I would expect a guy like that to spend the rest of his rookie contract as a bench warmer or playing in the G League and then turning his experience practicing with NBA stars into a career in a less competitive league.
- Comment on With Seattle and Las Vegas coming, what western team should join the east? 5 months ago:
I would say both New Orleans and Memphis should be in the East, since the US regions, as I learned them in school, would say both of those are in the Southeast while, for historical reasons, Minnesota is in the Midwest. Obviously, that would make the conferences unbalanced, so we could move Milwaukee or Chicago into the West.

- Comment on What are some game series you would like to see revived? And if possible, which entry should the new game follow from? 5 months ago:
In regards to SSX, after the success of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater remake, I am surprised that EA did not counter with a remake of SSX Tricky. I love how accessible the SSX controls are while still offering plenty of depth for people who want to optimize their runs. It is too bad that EA Sports seems to be focused on simulationist sports games (and live services).
- Comment on What games popularized certain mechanics? 5 months ago:
I thought that the uproar about horse armor was that it was the first pay-to-win DLC. The armor was not just cosmetic but actually provided a stat boost to your horse. The accusation was that the developers had made it too easy for enemies to kill your horse and decided to patch the game to fix it but made players pay for the patch.

- Comment on Are there any good casual/low-stress mobile games that aren't filled with microtransactions? 7 months ago:
Note with Stardew Valley: it is not unplayable without a controller, but if you have clumsy sausage fingers like me, the poor touch controls really took me out of the game.
- Comment on Jimmy Butler will opt out in 2025 and become a free agent. 7 months ago:
Journalists have been arguing whether the Heat should build around Jimmy (by going all in to win now) or Bam Adebayo (by making long term investments). Jimmy decided for them, it seems (or knows that his days are numbered).
- Comment on OG Anunoby Plans to Sign 5-Year, $212.5M Contract After Bridges Trade 7 months ago:
Presumably the Knicks had to make a trade of that caliber to keep Anunoby. That makes the “win now, suffer later” aspect of it a bit more understandable.
- Comment on Knicks Trading for Mikal Bridges 7 months ago:
This is the Knicks. They are probably assuming that every super star is going to be fighting to play in New York. They have been waiting for the last decade for that assumption to be true. It worked for them in 2011 to get Melo and Stoudemire, it is bound to work again, right?
- Comment on Automation 7 months ago:
That reminds me of the time, quite a few years ago, Amazon tried to automate resume screening. They trained a machine learning model with anonymized resumes and whether the candidate was hired. Then they looked at what the AI was looking at. The model had trained itself on how to reject women.

- Comment on How many people actually want fully on-site IT jobs? 8 months ago:
Not wanting to work in a crowded home has nothing to do with disliking your family. Kids are loud. They run around the house. They watch TV with the volume set too high. They have excited calls with their friends. Many home builders skimp on noise insulation for interior walls.

I am a Celtics fan, so my opinion is a bit biased, but I would be cheering against Dallas because I hate Jason Kidd.
- Comment on Report: Ty Lue, Clippers Agree to New 'Long-Term Contract' amid Lakers Rumors 8 months ago:
Of all the coaches in the league, Lue would be high on my list of expected firings. Not that he is doing a bad job, but the Clippers must know that what they have now is not working. It is much easier to bring in a new coach than it is to bring in a new super star, even if a roster shake up is what they need.
Win or lose, the Clippers are going to need to rebuild soon so signing a win now coach to a long term deal seems like a less than optimal decision.
- Comment on [Game Thread] 27-28 MAY 2024 - Conference Finals Game 4s 8 months ago:
The Pacers should have been able to dominate the paint, because they have bigger and stronger players.
If anything, I think the Pacers did a good job resisting doubling. The Celtic’s strategy is to always have many shooters on the court. Normally they would be able to probe the defense to draw a double team and then send the ball around to the uncovered player. To me, it looked like the Pacers kept everyone covered and guarded passing angles. Many of the Celtics possessions ended with the ball handler looking for an opening for 15 seconds and settling for a loosely contested 3.
