  With LeBron, I think it is a combination of a couple of things. Yes, he is an all-time great and a major superstar, so refs may be hesitant to argue with him on a questionable decision. But he is also ancient, in athlete years. He has been referreed by all the refs plenty of times and probably knows where each of their thresholds are and what behavior may trigger them. He also seems like a nice guy, so sometimes it is not “a player whining to them about a call he did not like” but it is “their buddy LeBron pointing out that they keep falling for a flop”.

  Besides, James gets superstar calls. He has no right to whine about anything.

  I assume that the PS5 Pro is great for its target audience: people who care about getting the best possible graphics on a console. They bought it, they tried it, they loved it, and they praised it. The issue with the PS5 Pro is that not everyone fits into that niche. For people who are not playing on giant 4K TVs, what is the benefit? What does it provide that a regular PS5 (or even a PS4) does not? Sony has not provided an answer, from what I have seen.

  From what I have seen, there was nothing yet about Rozier betting on games either directly or via a proxy. Just that there was an unusual number of betting on the under and Terry leaving the game early. The NBA investigated the issue and cleared him, so I wonder if it was someone other than him that caused the unusual betting pattern. For example, people on the team knew that he was hurting but wanted to see if he could play through it.

  Maybe, but I could see the Celtics falling short due to lack of size. Even when everyone is healthy, the Celtics play only one big and two small forwards. Not that they have much of a choice since their two best forwards are Horford, who is too old to play big minutes, and Porzingis, who is injury prone. In the playoffs last year, the Celtics struggled to contain dominant bigs like Bam.

  I don’t follow teams outside of my local, so what is the story with Griffin? From a quick Google, I don’t see anything about a debilitating injury or serious off the court issues, just that he struggled to find a role in the NBA. Normally, I would expect a guy like that to spend the rest of his rookie contract as a bench warmer or playing in the G League and then turning his experience practicing with NBA stars into a career in a less competitive league.

  I would say both New Orleans and Memphis should be in the East, since the US regions, as I learned them in school, would say both of those are in the Southeast while, for historical reasons, Minnesota is in the Midwest. Obviously, that would make the conferences unbalanced, so we could move Milwaukee or Chicago into the West.

  In regards to SSX, after the success of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater remake, I am surprised that EA did not counter with a remake of SSX Tricky. I love how accessible the SSX controls are while still offering plenty of depth for people who want to optimize their runs. It is too bad that EA Sports seems to be focused on simulationist sports games (and live services).

  I thought that the uproar about horse armor was that it was the first pay-to-win DLC. The armor was not just cosmetic but actually provided a stat boost to your horse. The accusation was that the developers had made it too easy for enemies to kill your horse and decided to patch the game to fix it but made players pay for the patch.

  Note with Stardew Valley: it is not unplayable without a controller, but if you have clumsy sausage fingers like me, the poor touch controls really took me out of the game.

  That reminds me of the time, quite a few years ago, Amazon tried to automate resume screening. They trained a machine learning model with anonymized resumes and whether the candidate was hired. Then they looked at what the AI was looking at. The model had trained itself on how to reject women.

  Not wanting to work in a crowded home has nothing to do with disliking your family. Kids are loud. They run around the house. They watch TV with the volume set too high. They have excited calls with their friends. Many home builders skimp on noise insulation for interior walls.
