I mean, fair enough, but also, we really shouldn’t be making it even entertaining new definitions for words based on online ragebait.

Not at all. Incels are almost overwhelmingly misogynistic and into a lot of weird pseudo scientific shit. Incels are those claiming they deserve women but at the same time don’t deserve them because they’re too beta and all the rich alphas are getting 10 chicks a second, so they excuse their lack of success with dating in a lot of made up bullshit to delude themselves into never improving as people.
Incels are not just virgins, they’re basically a cult, and thinking people use it just as ‘virgin’ is either deliberately obtuse or ignorant

Damn, imagine the levels of segregation, speciesm and genocide we would see if other human species had thrived and grown like us.

It may also be correlated with the population, though. Specifically the working age population.
I imagine that, as populations decrease and you have fewer people available to actually do any research, technological advancement also stagnates and slows down. If populations ever start increasing again in the future, then I imagine technological development will grow as well

It’s quite poetic innit
- Comment on No Passports, No Study Abroad: China Limits Public Employees’ Travel 3 weeks ago:
This is pretty common in China. My Chinese classmates say that some of their friends quit their jobs as teachers because they wanted to travel abroad and have a passport.
It’s been that way for a long time apparently, only made more evident now by the increasing relevance of Chinese geopolitics and their stronger economy compared to their neighbours

Bizarre and yet not very surprised. There’s all sorts of funny English used everywhere in Shanghai

On the one hand you’re right, but on the other I feel like a lot of stuff has become browser based (like text editors, code editors, even music editors and perhaps video editors someday), all thanks to Web Assembly and how complex a lot of web apps have become.
It feels like people use everyday stuff through apps, and more complex stuff through browsers nowadays. Roles may slowly invert at some point if it keeps going this way.

Colombia. Solidly placed among the worst countries in the world in terms of work-life balance.
I have a decent job and I don’t work that much, but I’m basically a freelancer, so that’s already pretty different.

Holy shit. 15 hour shifts aren’t uncommon at all where I’m from. No wonder we placed well below Japan on work-life balance statistics.
The fact that there are places where people legitimately only work 8 hours a day is kind of mind blowing, thinking about it.

The movie is awesome, but it gets me down thinking about how many shitty toy “but with grown-up humour” we’re going to get after this, just because now every studio in the world is going to join the bandwagon.
