Honestly I have kinda switched over to Sorcery for the moment.
Since it’s newer, there aren’t tons of sets, seems like about one big set a year-ish, so you actually get some time to enjoy the product.

And then there’s me, a guy who admittedly was drawn in by Final Fantasy so I could be considered a newbie scrub or whatever who is already kinda burned out on the game because there are SO MANY SETS. You can’t even enjoy collecting a set because a new one is being shoved in your face seemingly a couple of weeks after the last.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is my current game I’m spending the most time in. It’s Fire Emblem but now has little dungeons! They don’t add too much, honestly, but they break up the straight strategy combat with a simplified turn based RPG style. Something new, so that’s fun. Looks great; plays great.
I do like the story of my character Leda so far. It’s more “mature” than I expected as it often talks about murder and revenge. I’m eager to see what the other paths are like.
Silent Hill: Townfall is next. My friends and I always play a scary game together during the season, so this came out at a perfect time. About halfway through it, and I like it a lot!
Final Fantasy XIV: I mean, this is at the goat. I’m always playing this. Eager to clear up any side activities before the new expansion in January.

I finally just got all my classes to level 100 this month. Now I just need to play Beastmaster.
My free company also finally got into building airships and stuff so we’ve been doing that.

I have an ongoing joke for these games in my friend discord where anytime one comes up (because there’s always one in a gaming showcase) I put
“<NOUN>fall, yet another game in the long running -fall series.”
My headcanon is that they all are in the same universe.

The GameCube came out when I was a senior in high school. That first night my friend and I stayed up all night and beat Rogue Squadron. It was awesome.
Then going into college the next year with Smash Bros was amazing. Tournaments in the dorm lobby all the time. The handle was such a good idea.

One of my biggest issues is that every face seems to have had a different “style,” a different design aesthetic.
There are several races in Hyrule, sure, whatever. But Zelda is wildly different than Link who is wildly different than Ganon or Impa, and they all look different than the townsfolk.
They wanted to make things “realistic” with this doll aesthetic thing, but as you try to be more realistic when all the faces look different that stands out.

I haven’t run into any game breaking bugs on PS5 (Pro, at least). It’s unfortunate that it seems like PC has had the brunt of the bugs.
I’ve definitely seen some shadow bugs and texture things, but the game runs smooth for the most part otherwise.
I hope they get a chance to fix the issues.

Here’s a post about Nintendo raising the price of the Switch 2 by $50. People there are much less “chill” about that price versus this Steam Machine that is essentially a PS5 by all accounts on performance.
In this thread the people may not be AS mean as I was saying, there are people in there going “fuck Nintendo” as though Nintendo wants the bad press from raising prices.
And I’m not saying people should love Nintendo. I don’t really care about that. It’s just always funny to see the juxtaposition between these things. Lemmy is definitely a “I love Steam! It’s my favorite place to license games and not really own them!” kind of community. I get it. But every one of these companies are getting screwed by the same political climate and hardware situations.

The price increases were also a function of tariffs and junk, too. Just a big double whammy.
I think it was MS last year who started off the price hikes. Then they did another this year.
Nintendo had tariff issues right when the Switch 2 was launching then finally upped prices in the last month or so, and Sony just in the last couple of months had to adjust prices, too.
I don’t really think any of these companies raised console prices before the idiocy of the trump admin and the AI bubble, though. Not that I can recall at least.

It’s funny to see that when the main console makers all raised their prices for the same reasons as this thing is expensive everyone was like “Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft are so greedy! They hate their consumers!”
And this thing being overpriced it’s “oh sweet baby angel Gabe, we know the hardships upon thee in thine many literal ships at sea. Please accept my money.”
I’m joking here so calm down Steam nerds.
But I do think some folks need to realize none of these companies want to jack up their prices like this. Everyone wants to make a profit, sure, but AI is screwing everyone.
