Right? They did a great job casting. Im excited to see Thomas Jane as Bones
- Comment on Paul Wesley Admits He Still Wonders If He’s ‘Doing Enough’ to Honor William Shatner’s Captain Kirk 2 days ago:
I think he has done a good job. Especially in the latest episode. I was sold on his Kirk after the episode last season, The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail. If he tried too hard it might fall into cringe parody. It will be interesting to see him as captain of the enterprise at the end of next season.

For being a sequel to that fantasy episode with those crazy outfits, those preview photos sure don’t make it look that way. Everyone looking normal on the bridge?

- Comment on Interview: Rhys Darby On Adding Some “Flourish” To Trelane (And The Q) In ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ 3 days ago:
Rhys Darby in Strange New Worlds has been the best part of those episodes he’s in. Honestly if it wasn’t for Trelane in the soap episode I would have checked out. Also I’m glad that episode was self referential.

Huh damn I had no idea. Thanks, I’ll try this next time.
- Comment on academic jargon 4 days ago:
Yeah I get that people can get defensive when they are overwhelmed by jargon, but thats the beauty of language. We have so many different words that means such complex things. Its what allowed us to keep developing technology based on the layer below it. People need to get over not understanding every single word in a scientist paper, as if it’s an attack on their intelligence.
And hell I know AI gets alot of hate on Lemmy but that shit is very good at helping break down complex scientific papers with the jargon. I work in medical research and the amount of time it’s saved by helping me understand the jargon has been immense.

Oddly I can’t quite figure out why this feels too gory, but this game just goes a step to far me. I’ll be passing on that alone. And this form a person who loves blowing up bodies in Fallout.

- Comment on Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Strange New Worlds | 4x08 "Orders of Magnitude" 5 days ago:
Definitely enjoyed this one. It was fun seeing Kirk doing what he does best and following his gut no matter the cost. Been really enjoying Paul Wesley on this.
- Comment on Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Strange New Worlds | 4x06 "Off-Hour" 6 days ago:
This one is my favorite of the season so far. And it helped that the gimmick was very minimal. Something about seeing the Enterprise getting sucked into a wormhole always gets my blood pumping. CG this episode was stunning
- Comment on Valheim: Deep North 1.0 1 week ago:
Saying the game was abandoned is completely false. Iron Gate has been consistently releasing dev blogs and major content updates (Hearth & Home, Mistlands, Ashlands, and now the Deep North for 1.0) since launch in 2021. They’re a small indie team that intentionally took their time to avoid crunch and maintain quality. It’s fine if the vanilla loop or pacing isn’t your thing, but the devs definitely didn’t abandon it or just ‘slap a 1.0 badge’ on it.

I’m not holding my breath but this could be a huge turning point for the Democratic party where they may finally follow in the populism playbook that Bernie started in 2016.
- Comment on Why do leftist blame the Democratic for sabotaging Bernie Sanders? 1 year ago:
I think what they are trying to ask is why did all the DNC undermining still stop people from voting Bernie. The point being that it came off that he was so popular that even DNC with all their undermining shouldn’t have gotten in the way of him winning the nomination.
- Comment on 'It Has Plateaued': Should We Be Worried About Console Gaming's Future? 1 year ago:
I got a different take from this article. The economy doesn’t really play into the fact that games are so big today because you have to make it bigger than the previous one. Same with the console stats. Gotta make it more powerful. But we are at a point where most people can’t see the difference between PS5 and PS4. It’s going to be even less obvious when PS6 arrives.
I agree that it’s time for a hard reset.
- Comment on Day 72 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots 1 year ago:
I’ve been playing through Fallout New Vegas for the first time. Got it modded to look modern too so that’s been a really nice touch.
Fallout 3 was my very first Fallout and played it way back when it came out, then proceeded to skip new Vegas and played thru 4 back when that one released.
All this time I was time I was like damn, 3 is my favorite only because of nostalgia and actually ran a quick play thru back in April when all the Fallout hype started because of the TV show.
But I also bought New Vegas finally during this hype and am almost done with my first playthrough and wow I get why it’s considered the best Fallout game.
The RPG elements are perfection, the stories are so interesting and gameplay is challenging but fair. I’m so glad I can now understand all the hype behind this game.
- Comment on how is final fantasy XVI 1 year ago:
Geezus the story isn’t ass. I know you prefaced with it just being your opinion, but with a charged comment like that’s it’s hard not to want to push back.
- Comment on how is final fantasy XVI 1 year ago:
I asked my brother this who’s a huge fina fantasy fan and he says it’s the best story wise since 10. 13 is just boring, 15 is so convoluted and bloated. 12 is pretty good but the retread in Ivaice always felt like a cop out. 16 is the most consice FF story wise in years.
