I met a blind guy who described seeing people’s colors. These were very private to him and would not describe the colors he saw for different people.

- Comment on In Arkansas can my brother sue the public defender for pressing him to take a deal and was told don't tell the judge you were pressed into this plea because I will jail you mom? 1 month ago:
You could likely have a free initial meeting with a lawyer to confirm a law had been broken and get a general idea of their fees and your odds of success.
Sounds like it would be your brother’s word against the public defenders. Sounds tough.
Yes, you could file paperwork for a lawsuit. Affording the legal help and winning the suit are different matters.

Sounds like dude doesn’t know about the concept of teams paid to be on-call 24/7.
I’m sure those are exempt. If a well-managed critical server goes down at 2am, you can be sure some employee is part of an on-call team for just such an event.
That’s not with this about. This is about bugging people to work when they are off the clock.

- Comment on From 'quiet quitting' to 'coffee badging' — why employees are less interested in work 4 months ago:
I know someone who does this. He’s more productive at home, and near-zero people he meets with at the office, but there’s a mandate to badge-in so many days a week. So he does.
He’s not slacking, he’s being made less efficient by complying with a broken policy.

I haven’t heard of any smaller companies in my network doing layoffs, but I’m sure there are some out there.
- Comment on Employees Who Stay In Companies Longer Than Two Years Get Paid 50% Less 5 months ago:
Some of the companies that pay the most are the same ones doing the layoffs, like Google.
Trading up for money could add extra risk exposure to layoffs.
But if every job change is seen as a pay raise opportunity, I guess layoffs are speeding the process along for you.

- Comment on Nurses with an overbearing manager, how do you pass time at work without getting caught? 7 months ago:
Someone can also die if the nurses burn out and quit because their job is not sustainable.
Understaffing is a system failure, not a personal failure.
- Comment on New Scam: Asking to download Signal/Telegram? 7 months ago:
That’s right. A scamming tactic is to move conversations from platforms that are monitored to platforms that are encrypted, where the scam messages won’t detected by automated scanning.
Yes, there are legit uses for encrypted chats but this move is one signal that a scam may be in progress.
