Well, that’s definitely a way to know that they do good work
- Comment on Harris wants to end subminimum wages for disabled workers—if they're not behind bars 1 week ago:
I need to say this, because the ableism in the comments is getting out of hand, just because somebody is disabled doesn’t mean that they can’t do the exact same job as an able person with the same exact performance. For example, somebody who is missing a leg can do an office job just as well as somebody who has both legs, and somebody who’s blind can be just as good as a software engineer as somebody who has 20/20 vision.
- Comment on Harris wants to end subminimum wages for disabled workers—if they're not behind bars 1 week ago:
Or instead of continuing to treat disabled people as less than, the government actually creates some anti-discrimination laws with some teeth and then enforces them
- Comment on Sam's Club hikes pay as it competes for workers with Costco and other retailers 1 week ago:
Good
- Comment on Every show with a suicide now has a disclaimer with a suicide hotline at the beginning. Is there any evidence that these warnings make a positive difference? 1 week ago:
Warnings are great, sometimes I’m not in the right head space to watch those kind of scenes. I usually just don’t watch the episode until I feel it won’t affect me. This is also why doesthedogdie is a very useful resource for me
- Comment on When and why did democrats begin supporting fracking? 1 week ago:
They are trying to cater to the independent voters, not republicans. This is smart because independent voters have decided elections in several states before
- Comment on 14 films that embarassed the blockbusters by making millions off tiny budgets 1 week ago:
No Everything Everywhere All At Once?
- Comment on Any recommendations for a decent DVD/Blu-ray player? 1 week ago:
You should probably go for a 4K Blu-ray player for future compatibility, make sure that it doesn’t need an internet connection to work, and check that it works for your region (there are 3 Blu-ray regions)

I’m a fan of the Resident Evil movies but I’ve never played the games
- Comment on Seriously, what the f*** is keeping Donald Trump in this presidential race? 2 weeks ago:
Just a small correction, there was no coup attempt in Venezuela that’s just dictatorship propaganda from Maduro

Sure, they could try, but they would have to physically enter my house since I have drives that are not connected to the internet

You technically do if you download the offload installers
- Comment on Do you prefer to buy games on Steam or GOG? 4 weeks ago:
GOG Galaxy on Windows is an awful client so I shudder to think what they would do with a Linux client
- Comment on The Crow reboot producer is surprised the original filmmakers aren't more accepting of the new movie 5 weeks ago:
So Jared Leto’s joker
- Comment on Brian Cox Says Cinema Is In “a Very Bad Way”, Cites Marvel, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’: “It’s Become Party Time” 5 weeks ago:
I disagree, I think it’s much easier to make an indie movie than an indie game, you can film it on a phone and have one set and only have a few actors and still make a good movie in months. Indie games take years to make, specially for one developer
- Comment on 5 weeks ago:
If I get to keep the music in mp3, flac, or some other file format? Even a single play is worth it
- Comment on Beijing and Hollywood are decoupling as Chinese audiences favor domestic productions 5 weeks ago:
Yeah, it really worked for the Fast and Furious franchise but so many movies came out bland and boring
- Comment on Brian Cox Says Cinema Is In “a Very Bad Way”, Cites Marvel, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’: “It’s Become Party Time” 5 weeks ago:
Yes, because not all movies need to have a huge bloated budget. Think of it as if the game industry only made AAA games, that would be horrible

Most peertube instances are isolated from most of the other instances to avoid hosting a ton of videos. Honestly, your instance doesn’t have to federate with other peertube instance since most people leave comments from other fediverse apps

Long trailers that show me what the movie is about are great, teaser trailers only work for sequels or established IP
