- Comment on A one-time 5% wealth tax would bring Silicon Valley’s billionaires’ wealth back to where it was just 31 days ago 1 week ago:
Spreading that out would likely create more businesses, art, shows, and everything for them to try. They could spend a life time and not run out of new experiences as is, but they like staring at a chart that looks like it says they are winning.

Showing up and giving an opinion and then following up on that opinion when people respond to it.
Hence, ‘an opinion and a follow up’.

And yet they worth an opinion and a follow up
- Comment on Palantir CEO Alex Karp has mental breakdown in front of reporters 2 weeks ago:
Fair enough. It is hyperbolic, but I’m not sure by how much.
I will give honorable mention to the pathological greed. If greed wasn’t so celebrated, I’m sure there’d we’d have a proper diagnosis for their insatiability.
- Comment on Palantir CEO Alex Karp has mental breakdown in front of reporters 2 weeks ago:
Idk. If the manager at a local mcdonalds gave an interview calling people stupid as shit and then rambling nonsense, people might suppose the same. The only time I’ve had someone do that to me they were clearly unhoused with some kind of mental health condition.
This guy is the head of an international corporation, named after an evil entity, owned by a famous Billionaire who is frequently in the news about cartoon villainy. He should ostensibly have some media training that details why this little crashout is sad, pathetic, and embarassing.
- Comment on Christa Pike at 18 years old when she was sentenced to death. She is now 50 and they are supposed to kill her this week 2 weeks ago:
Or maybe its just an odd time to bring it up?
Like this is a story about a woman who had a hellish childhood, committed a murder, and has now been on death row for 30+ years, and the state has botched her execution despite warnings and requests of other methods. And most of these comments are not particularly sympathetic. Acknowledging her broken childhood, is not the same as forgiving or forgetting.
And then you come in with a total non-sequitur about double standards for men. Someone said quit changing the subject and you get a whole mini-rant about how they need to defend their position (not even really a position, again they said to not change the subject).
And just to engage with this, there absolutely is a double standard but its not gender like you’re stuck on. You can find people sympathizing with men all over. Anytime an accusation is levied at a man, you will see oodles of people decry it, rationalize it, and attack the accuser (man or woman). You will find people attacking women and men, you will find people defending women and men, you will find people refusing evidence, defending lies, sympathizing with, accusing of, and every response under the sun in favor of or against both men and women. This is a people thing, men and women can be both righteous and/or evil, they can be right and/or wrong.
In short, focus on the Person. Someone’s genitals should have zero bearing on how you take in any of the information in the OP’s post. Even sillier is to bring up the genitals of other parties. Do yourself a favor, and avoid culture war bullshit like that. Its fine to call out double standards when you’re seeing it, but to bring it up out of nowhere is proving you’re the one with double standards. You wouldn’t show up in some dude’s execution thread asking about why women get mistreated.
If you do care about injustices, keep your eyes on the ball. Don’t get sidetracked by someone’s genitals, or what other people thing about them for having said genitals.
- Comment on These "warnings" that some people think mean anything 2 weeks ago:
I was told to do the ‘1 car length per 10mph’ rule of thumb when learning and I still try to whenever I can. Its not perfect, but its always in the back of my mind so I am usually aware of I’m getting too up on anyone.
Not sure why OP is balking at the warning on vehicles. Legality aside, sometimes its good to have a heads up. People need to chill the hell out on highways in general.
