- Comment on Data from the 2023 Insomniac leak showed that most first party Playstation games sold more physical discs than digital copies 17 hours ago:
Sony count bundled games, even if they are a digital code, as a physical sale.
You basically couldn’t buy a PS5 that wasn’t bundled with one of these games for years.

It was clearly a bug, and it only affected child accounts. Try again.
- Comment on Xbox testing disc-to-digital feature to digitize game collections 2 days ago:
We know that Xbox won’t let you use a second account to play games you purchased on your original account on the same device
Yes they do. Any account in your home console can play all of your digital games. Stop spreading lies.

Of course you can only re-sell your purchase once 🤣
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 3 days ago:
OK good that you at least edited your statement about the disk drive out, because that was wrong.
In to the Xbox One announcement, you’re leaving out very important information - the fact that they were allowing trading/re-selling and loaning of said digital games.

Yeah, they should. I’m all for that.

So install windows on the steam machine?
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 3 days ago:
What are you talking about?
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 3 days ago:
Wouldn’t surprise me if they stopped giving sales numbers soon, like they did with the PS3 and vita. Their current gen sales have completely dried up atm thanks to the price increases, and they don’t want to present that.
Once people understand that now is the cheapest they’re going to be for a long time they’ll start selling again though, but with Xbox lucky to sell a few thousand consoles a month and not announcing their sales figures, Sony don’t need to release figures either.

If something needs subsidies to be viable, it’s not viable. Sorry, but it’s the truth.
Government subsidies should not exist. It should be government funding in return for ownership.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
They will, because it’s the only option and is “the” gaming brand.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
Sure, because it’s a PC where everyone has been all digital for a decade, but Sonys change doesn’t just apply to their next console. You think Xbox will stop devs releasing physical games for the series s and x?
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
Because retail has never sold digital copies before.
Well that’s not true - you can buy digital codes for some Xbox games at retail, or at least you could, and they often went on sale.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
So you are against updates just in principle lol. You’d rather games not get better because of a misguided idea that updates being a thing mean games aren’t “finished” at release.
You also seem to think that only online-only games get frequent updates. That’s not true. Take a game like vampire survivors for example. It must have had a hundred updates by now, and it’s a single player offline game (though they also recently added online multiplayer in a free update). That game will be playable in 30 years time too. Why wouldn’t it?
You are mistaking games that require a persistent online connection as “games that get updates”.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
Sony fanboy? 🤣 I think Sony are a terrible company, and PlayStation is anti-consumer with terrible hardware and games. I’m a pc and Xbox player.
Both PlayStation and Xbox allow you to download games that have been delisted if you own them. Have since forever. You should do a bit more research before you speak.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
They can’t really improve it though, because publishers and devs don’t want to make their game available for free, which is essentially what putting it on gog does.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
So you’re just hoping Microsoft also get rid of discs because you don’t want them to still sell them if Sony doesn’t. Gotcha.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
Why does that matter if you can buy them anywhere?
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
Again though - if you want a game console you’ll buy a PlayStation because it’s the only real option, and it’ll be cheaper than an Xbox.
Bu the time it comes out, people will be well accustomed to paying exorbitant prices for these things. It sucks but it’ll be the norm by then. Prices are never going back down, because history has shown us they never do.

10000% of nothing is still nothing.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
Yeah, and that’s 99 of the top 100 most popular games.
Try selling someone a pc in 2026 that will never be able to play GTA6 lol.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
Until yesterday you no doubt thought Sony would never do what they just announced. Maybe don’t “Xbox too” just because you want Xbox to.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
The current Xbox is going to be supported for another 10+ years at this rate. They’re going to keep selling games on disc for it.
The next Xbox is a pc, which is already all digital.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
Audi is one of those areas where 99% of people can’t tell the difference between 192kb/s and FLAC, especially through.
Same with video - most people are watching on crappy TVs from way too far of a distance, with things like motion interpolation turned on.
There’s a very low bar for “good enough”, and above that is irrelevant. Streaming services are more than good enough for 99% of the population.

You’re seriously trying to use price increases as a reason why their “physical as digital” plan wouldn’t work?
The Xbox game library is amazing. They’re consistently the best publisher of the year. The game pass library is incredible.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
You can back up your Xbox game files too. PlayStation as well I’m pretty sure.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
A bluray player can be bought for like a hundred bucks even here in Australia. They’re not expensive.
They don’t sell because no one gives a shit about physical copies movies.

You think you own your steam games? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m assuming you’ll go buy some more TF2 hats or loot crates in CS eh?
- Comment on End of an era? 4 days ago:
They literally outlined all of this. Everything single part. You could choose a friends gamertag to loan your game to. While it was on loan they could download and play it, but you couldn’t since you loaned it out.
As for your second paragraph, no you’re just inventing imaginary what-ifs because you want to be anti-Microsoft - just like I’m sure you did back when they announced these plans.
Thanks to people like you, you’ll now get all the drawbacks of digital and none of the benefits of physical. Congratulations, you played yourself.
- Comment on End of an era? 4 days ago:
The large majority of users are digital only. This isn’t even debatable. The sales figures speak for themselves.
