- Comment on 6 Reasons So Many Movies Are Struggling At The Box Office In 2024 5 months ago:
Just because it's a sequel doesn't mean it's derivative. All 5 movies are directed by the same guy. I can't speak for the first 3, but if you saw the 2015 movie and couldn't tell that it was a passion project, then I don't know what to tell you. We don't call Sherlock Holmes soulless even though Doyle wrote over 50 short stories starring Holmes.
It's entirely possible for someone to be creatively invested in a world they've built and want to keep exploring it in future works.

I agree to a point, but Mad Max is an example of something original that seems to have come from a place of creativity instead of a committee and yet is still doing poorly.
So I don't think it's just that Hollywood has a tendency to do remakes instead of original stuff.
- Comment on [IJustWatched] Blade Runner 2049. What do you think about it? 5 months ago:
He was Paul Allen in American Psycho, though I don't know how successful that was at release.
- Comment on Street Fighter 6 - Akuma Gameplay Trailer 5 months ago:
Fair enough! I still prefer the implied version, but it's definitely nice to have alternatives.
Also, I haven't kept up with SF6. I was surprised Akuma wasn't a launch character.

I'm seeing a lot of his moves from 3rd Strike, which is nice. Not a fan of that raging demon though. I still think it's better the less of it you see and the more of it that's implied.
- Comment on Which game series had the worst anniversary celebration? 6 months ago:
Is the 35th anniversary the release of 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy on the Switch? I'd say the artificial scarcity aspect to induce fomo wasn't any better. It might have even been worse.

- Comment on Life was better in the nineties and noughties, say most Britons 6 months ago:
As a bisexual man, the 90s were much different for LGBT folks than today. But yes, for most people, the 90s wouldn't be too much worse than today, aside from economics.
- Comment on Life was better in the nineties and noughties, say most Britons 6 months ago:
Was better in some regards. I think most minorities in the US would agree that they at least feel safe and more free to exist in 2024 than they would in the 1980s or earlier.
- Comment on 'The gold rush is over:' Slay the Spire and Darkest Dungeon devs say that big Game Pass and Epic exclusive deals have dried up for indie devs 7 months ago:
I think they meant guaranteed income prior to selling the game, since they had no way of knowing how successful (if at all) the game was going to be once released.
- Comment on SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! | Gameplay Trailer 11 months ago:
Interesting, I hadn't heard of this before. I'm not sure how I feel about the environments in the trailer. I think the game looks largely visually appealing, but the trees/snow/rocks seems to clash with the character models.

I checked the website listed in the video, and it looks like it says there will be local split screen!
- Comment on What are some alternative to soulless videogame franchises? 11 months ago:
I can second Thumper. I bought it on a whim, and have since bought it several more times for more devices. It's such a satisfying game to play. I had no idea about the Harmonix connection, but it makes total sense now that you've said it.
- Comment on Bloodborne Kart - Release Date Trailer 11 months ago:
Very excited to see this finally released. As glad as I am that it's free, I wish Sony or From could have given it their official blessing and partnered with her so she could sell it and make money. She's put a ton of work into this and the PS1 Demake, and I wish she could have gotten paid for her effort. She deserves it
- Comment on Indie gaming is on the verge of an immersive sim eruption 1 year ago:
You can argue half life, but Deus Ex and Thief are the quintessential "immersive sim" forbearers (along with system shock 2). When they say sim, they mean the game reacts to play action in ways that aren't predetermined or scripted. The idea is they value player agency and their impact in the game world over pre-set events
- Comment on Do you find the description Live Service Game off-putting? 1 year ago:
I mean, there are examples where the multiplayer should be optional and thus force the game to be live service. For instance, Diablo 4 should be perfectly playable single player, offline, yet it's live service and to my understanding requires an Internet connection
- Comment on Starfield, is it getting review bombed? 1 year ago:
I did, and it's great. Really helped to have it somewhere I don't also work.

Got any sort of summary? I've never heard of this game, much less any drama around it.

I was considering getting it for my steam deck. If you don't mind me asking, how bad was the performance?

Not the person who said it, but yes, it's sarcasm

I'm surprised I hadn't heard of that! I'll have to check it out when it comes out next week.

From what I remember, Ittle Dew would be great to play with a 5 year old. Some good recommendations there!

Also, XV wasn't well received, generally speaking. I'm sure there are at least a few people (like me) who decided to wait on this one, to be safe. A damaged reputation can cause tangible sales impacts
