I've worked repetitive, hot, boring jobs before, but I don't know how the people working those trucks can keep their sanity with that music on repeat. I get sick enough of Christmas music in stores after hearing them like twice, and the blaring of an ice cream truck is 100x worse!

One just started coming through my neighborhood like 2 weeks ago, and there's a kid a few houses down who seems to always be ready to run out and stop the truck. Takes easily 10+ minutes for the music to fade out. Like, I hate to be a grumpy old man, but that music drives me fucking nuts! I'm on the verge of trying to beat the kid to the truck just so I can bribe the guy to drive away as fast as possible

Water gives you heartburn? I've never heard of that, that's odd. I occasionally get heartburn but oddly enough, it usually means I've been sitting down too long. Certainly it's exacerbated by stuff like pizza or too much coffee, but in any case, simply standing up for a few minutes helps me a lot.

I find that simply drinking a few gulps of water often grants fast relief. Maybe not the best solution right before bed though lol

I didn't mean good digitals didn't exist, but that analog camaras were still very common. And they were. The overwhelming majority of teens in the aughts would know very well what polaroid was

The aughts?? Surely that must have been a particularly ignorant teen, or they were messing with you. High quality phone cameras were far from ubiquitous then. My phone had a camera but I was still buying disposable ones at CVS before going on trips so I could get high quality photos all the way through the aughts. And if that teen is in their mid 30s now, I'm still younger than them...

not to mention the mouse would have to move the core in order to spring the trap so it might not even close properly

Probably also doesn't hurt that the US is generally far more reliant on driving to get anywhere. There's a higher tolerance for doing it dangerously since there's no alternative
