More literal translations of bibles are often like you’re referencing and are really interesting to read when you approach from a scholarly direction.
Take them with a grain of salt and the historian/translators footnotes and see what you take from it. Lots of good thoughts and prayers and wildly different than what the Christian right has championed lately.

It’s a metaphor for little kids.
The scientific aspects of the species are moot because it’s a very basic metaphor for how sexy times works.

Since birds pollinate and bees make nests, it as youve pointed out sexual dimorphism in birds tends to have them as the pretty ones.

Yeah, the VHS tapes of this I remember had like 1 dinoriders commercial then the rest was different slot racers, like a train that went up the wall and a glow in the dark one, race cars, etc.
I might just be remembering those commercials the most cuz I wanted them the most
