So, the govn can pay it right away.
No offense but i think you should learn a bit about more about economics, specifically about how currency works. Long story short, if a currency loses a lot of value in comparison to other currencies, the ‘local’ system collapses. So the very important task of a government (or its central bank really) is to keep it’s relative value high (not too high, but that’s a story for another day. The us gov (or the Federal Reserve in this case) would fail very very hard if they would decide to create 38 trillion usd. It is especially problematic considering the financial problems that it would cause are on top of all the other shit that’s going on.

Personally for me having the comfort of modern life beats getting to live with dinosaurs, but no judgement.
- Comment on Denominator, go Mercator 1 week ago:
but that was just Mercator playing a trick upon me
Nearly every projection that show the entire globe on a 2d canvas will show you a map where the horizontal distance is almost double the vertical distance, so it is very correct that a journey from the top to the bottom is much shorter than from the most left to the most right.
- Comment on Denominator, go Mercator 1 week ago:
Crossing the globe north to south is the same distance as east to west, but since it is folded open on 2d maps it looks as if the earth is wider then it is higher. In this projection that means the map is stretched more horizontally than vertically, if i understand correctly.

There also an interactive version of this, also a bunch of copies (not sure if this is the original, but i believe so): https://thetruesize.com/

I recognised this problem years ago and decided to also let them eat bugs in plain sight. Unfortunately my house isn’t big enough to counter evolution on my own, but I feel there is more people out there who also stopped killing spiders because of this.

Makes me think of this iconic 1996 Dutch tv-’commercial’ warning people of the dangers of firework. Very fine marketing, bit less desturbing:

You can’t project the % of gay people in the whole population onto the people in the position of president. Less then 2% of all US presidents werd black for example. Or maybe an even more obvious example, there haven’t been 23 female presidents.

I am gay, i have great taste. I consider myself in the know enough to inform you not all gay people have good taste. Some have no taste. Some have bad taste. Some have really bad taste. There is this bias thing going on where you only notice the times your belief is confirmed. And yes, many people with great taste are gay. But there are exceptions. Some people with great taste aren’t even the slightest bit gay. Not sure about Trump though. I consider him someone who definitely has a taste. And all the gold is quite gay. The amount of gold in his penthouses is so extreme it must be some sort of kink. It’s beyond overcompensation. Him being gay would explain a lot.

I heard the term waay before i understood the word came into being because someone wrote a book about the phenomenon that didn’t have a name yet. Somehow i assumed this was a phenomenon that existed forever, instead of a few decades.

I think they mean a government that represents everyone, not just a single group. If government balances everybodies needs, the hungry are protected against the greedy.
