Agreed. This plate looks great but it could use some roasted broccoli or sprouts, or sauteed green beans or something. Eat your greens!
- Comment on Have any of you experienced that "snake detection" instinct? Do you think it's real? 2 days ago:
I wasn’t aware of this phenomenon but this explains a story of mine. Halloween when I was a kid, we were out with my friend’s mom trick-or-treating when a copperhead jumped out into the street we were walking on. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a human react faster, friend’s mom picked up a rock, threw it, and struck the snake in the head. Part of that was probably mon instinct, but I wonder if she had a snake sense.

We bought my niece a new PC so she can do schoolwork on, she’s an art major and needs the Adobe suite and other related programs that her poor little laptop just couldn’t handle. That thing couldn’t even open a Chrome tab. Steep price for a Ryzen 7 7700x and 5060ti but it was worth it to see her smile!

Well I suppose it’ll be hard to do any worse than 343/Halo Studios has done with the franchise.

- Comment on How do I join a "subreddit" I found on a different lemmy? 1 month ago:
Your instance is the web domain that is hosting Lemmy. So, the instance you joined is lemmy.world. There are many instances, like lemmy.world, such as lemmy.zip, lemmy.today, lemmy.ca, and lemmy.ml (just to name a few). Additionally, there’s Piefed, and there are Piefed instances like Piefed.social (where I reside), piefed.world, etc. These instances all share content via “federation”.
When you’re logged into lemmy.world, you can use the built in search features to find communities (subreddits) you want to subscribe to, to see content posted there on your home feed.

Nice writeup. I agree some of the quests are just mind-numbing, like the pal critic quests. I think those are the only quests I haven’t done yet, despite 300ish hours and the palpedia complete (minus catch bonuses). I just do not want to keep going back and forth 5 times to each of the 10? 15? Pal critics across the world.

- Comment on Miyamoto: Games based on developers’ personal interests resonate around the world, not those aiming for global appeal | VGC 2 months ago:
He’s a hypocrite because in the same interview, he defends their unnecessary remakes by saying it allows new players to experience them if they can’t go back to play the original versions.
He then confirms that Starfox and Yoshi were released this year to coincide with the Mario Galaxy Movie. So are they games that developers want to play, or marketing stunts? This old man needs to retire.

I think Graham himself referred to the moles as ladybugs, not the sex worker.
- Comment on After laying off thousands, Ubisoft says losing "key talents and skills" is a big danger for the company 3 months ago:
The company’s report underscores a growing problem in the industry: great games cannot just be made by anyone, and, in this consolidation-heavy time, that may mean that a company gaining an IP but losing the people who defined it doesn’t really get it much in the end. In fact, everyone loses out.
You think? Hire a painter to make a painting, then fire them. Now hire me, someone who cannot paint, to make a better version of that painting. Ain’t gonna happen, is it?
I feel awful for the people working at a ghoulish corp like Ubisoft.
