People only care about something if it affects their profits negatively.
- Comment on What TV show were you highly excited for, but ended up quickly disappointing you? 1 week ago:
The anime adaptation of Junji Ito’s uzumaki. It’s a manga that I love and have read it many times, when I heard that there was an anime adaptation that was sticking with the art style, I was interested. When I saw the trailer and heard Colin Stetson’s bizarre music, I knew that this would be amazing. Time passed and I checked on its release every month. It was delayed again and again but I had patience, thinking that they just wanted to get it right. It finally releases and it was amazing, the first episode anyway. When episode 2 drops I can hardly contain my excitement. Yet, something is off with it, I try to ignore it. Third episode, same thing. Last episode, had some improvements but still wasn’t the same quality as the first. I go online and see that people are divided over it, with a very vocal majority saying that something is off. I felt deflated and didn’t join in on the discussions. Time passed and I forgot about it until recently when I saw an article where one of the production staff said that there was some pressure from higher ups and they chose to release what they had or it was gonna get cancelled.

It must be.
- Comment on The most influential video game of all time - Bafta 2 weeks ago:
Kingdom come deliverance 2 is not even a bad game but how can it be number 7? It’s been out for two months… it’s hardly influenced anything. The first one would make more sense but only because of the dedication the team put into making it. Bizarre entry, and while I don’t agree with shenmue being more influential than doom, super Mario bros or even sonic for that matter, I guess I never played it that much when it came out.

We can call it the greentext paradox.
Life advice should not come from greentext communities, but that statement is good advice.

Company of heroes, the original version. Still a very good game and unlike the two sequels, is not so dlc heavy and is more about tactics than just spamming tanks and landmines, though I still sometimes do that.
- Comment on What's your favourite classic movie you think everyone should have seen once in their life? 1 month ago:
I still can’t believe this movie flopped at the box office and almost ended John carpenter’s career. It’s an amazing whodunnit with the thing being able to be anyone at anytime. I watch it once a year when it’s really cold and snowing.
- Comment on What's your favourite classic movie you think everyone should have seen once in their life? 1 month ago:
Definitely. I love this movie and I think it’s a great heavy character driven story. I believe it is something that everyone should watch once, at the very least. After all these years I’m still undecided on whether I would vote guilty or not guilty, there’s a lot to consider in the case and the jurors all have their flaws which makes it more interesting than just “juror good, juror bad”.

I am sure you mean Phil Connor’s, but I would happily be one of the greatest singers of all time, even for a day.
- Comment on Would you rather be trapped in Groundhog Day or the Truman show? 1 month ago:
Probably Groundhog Day. At least everything is genuine, whereas the Truman show is very much staged. Both are hell but at least I have the hope of waking up each day well rested and ready to learn new skills, not sure how the magic works with memory retention though…

If you fancy another animated classic there is “ghost in the shell (1995)”, that’s assuming you haven’t already seen it. Wasn’t a fan of akira myself but appreciate the art from it. However, I love ghost in the shell.
- Comment on What would you consider the 3 greatest movies ever made? 2 months ago:
The shawshank redemption, 12 angry men and apocalypse now.
- Comment on Gaming on Linux, How openSUSE Stacks Up for Gamers 2 months ago:
I used to use opensuse and it was always a solid distro. I switched to manjaro after because I wanted to try an arch based system, that was not arch btw, it was also solid. I have settled on fedora though for many years now and I doubt I’ll ever switch again. At least for me, it does give better performance in games like csgo/2, not as good as windows but I also didn’t have any issues with the last of us, after a few patches anyway. Red dead redemption 2 runs better than on windows with fedora (for me).
- Comment on Danny Boyle’s ‘28 Years Later: Part 3’ starts production in March 2 months ago:
I am so excited for this trilogy of films already. Maybe I’m going to be disappointed because I’m overhyping it to myself but I love the idea of 28 x later taking on a folk horror vibe.

- Comment on Is there any movie you are looking forward to? 2 months ago:
I’ve just watched the three movies I was really looking forward to. The only film that has topped all 3 in how excited I am to watch is 28 years later, which I will be rebooking a seat for at the cinema as soon as I can. Not much is known about the film yet but I love to imagine they are gonna really lean into the folk horror vibe I got from the trailer. Here’s hoping.
