Look at Mr. Moneybags over here, getting a drink that's not water.
- Comment on what is with child names like Aiden, Braiden etc? 4 months ago:
Wow, and the kids are in Thin Blue Line shirts. What a weird family.

Maybe we're supposed to be under the assumption that the community cards combine with the King and Queen to make up a Royal Flush?

Yeah, NBA League Pass doesn't work on Linux either, they partnered with Microsoft to implement their new DRM and made the decision not to support Linux. I assume this is also the case here.
The only way to get around it is to use a virtual machine, which is silly.
- Comment on pepper spray review 5 months ago:
Haha, yes, you would probably have to make it at least partially outdoors.
- Comment on pepper spray review 5 months ago:
I wonder if you can make your own or something. Mace is a plant, after all.
- Comment on How do Texas residents afford electricity? 5 months ago:
there is a cap at $5000/MwH
It's MWh (megawatt hours). That's only for wholesale electricity, which is available to retail electrical providers, not consumers. So your utility company can charge you whatever they want, but their price is capped. Funny how that works.
- Comment on sure you can have latkes :) 5 months ago:
Hm, I guess I have seen that, but never considered that it could be a high-grossing day. My wife's family would burn us in effigy if we tried to suggest leaving the house during the day so I've never really thought of it much.
If we don't come to Christmas it's as though we've killed the very concept of happiness. We'd never hear the end of it if they found out we went to a movie instead.
- Comment on sure you can have latkes :) 5 months ago:
They're open on Boxing Day, as stated in the post. It's only usually businesses run by people that don't celebrate Christmas that are open (like Chinese restaurants, and that one gas station run by a Pakistani family in my old rural town that saved my hide in 2012 by being open after I forgot to get gas on Christmas Eve).

This is actually kinda sad, I hope they have access to some help. I'd rather believe anon really is a Malkavian.
- Comment on The interior of your house is hot, the exterior cool. What would the most efficient orientation be for a box fan? Pushing hot air out of a window or pulling cool air in through it? 5 months ago:
The most efficient way is to force cold air into the space while also forcing hot air out. The best way to do this is to have maximum airflow from one end of the house to the other, often by opening all of your windows and using multiple fans to direct the air. Shouldn't really matter if the fan is outside or inside the window; an airtight seal around the fan should get you good results either way.

Stay mad, love ya. 😘
- Comment on Anons wife hosts a pool party 5 months ago:
Wow, you are so mad! Who knew your life is so unfulfilling that you need to cope like this.
Have fun with your pool party rashes, children screaming, and spilled bowls of chips, I'll be getting drunk and high while blasting vaporwave and playing crokinole with friends.
- Comment on Anons wife hosts a pool party 5 months ago:
It's not about the pool, it's about the grossness of being so close to others. This just tells me you've never been to a large party, otherwise you would obviously understand the need to have enough space.
I have been to cramped weddings, to parties of multiple hundreds of people for which there was not enough room. It is hot, it is smelly, it is humid, it is gross. A pool is worse. It has nothing to do with me having to clean.
- Comment on Anons wife hosts a pool party 5 months ago:
Hm, didn't know my comment mentioned that I wouldn't clean my house before a party. It's almost as if you're trying to imply I said something I didn't so that my comment appears unreasonable.
I will say it again: 30 people in a residential pool (described as small in the post) is disgusting. It has nothing to do with the house, the backyard, the barbecue, the pets, the grass, the carpet, etc. It has nothing to do with anything except the pool and its capacity.
- Comment on Anons wife hosts a pool party 5 months ago:
For small groups? 30 people (over 8 of whom are children) in a residential pool sounds absolutely gross even if it's not my pool and I'm not cleaning it.
- Comment on Daybreak bought Palia studio Singularity 6 and aims to bring the game to launch 5 months ago:
I liked the Palia beta and the Chinese New Year event. The world seems a bit dead sometimes though, and the quests can be boring. I haven't played in a while, I lost interest. I'll have to revisit it sometime.

Why not try running your own local instance of Nitter? No Nazis that way. I would if I used Twitter more.

Well yeah, greentexts are either boring or fake, that's why I'm here (where the shittiest ones are filtered out) and not on 4chan. I'm just trying to have some fun with it.

Why the fuck would you go to a casino and gamble with real money after realizing you're "hard addicted to this shit"? 4channers have brain worms.

If the gyroscope moves while the car is in motion, they can be pretty sure that you're not driving. Or you're texting and driving, but if the car is going a certain speed and you're texting, you're going to have bigger problems very soon.
- Comment on everything actually important is already metric 6 months ago:
And all Imperial amounts are based on the SI system (the official name for metric). That's basically the point of having a standard.
I'm really not sure what the big deal is that the packaging uses the metric equivalent of the unit used in the US, which is one of the main countries that many businesses worldwide serve. That's also the case with butter (1 lb to 454g), cream cheese (8 oz to 250g), etc.
- Comment on everything actually important is already metric 6 months ago:
It doesn't matter what the multiple is. It could be 28.35g exactly, it's still metric because of the unit.
- Comment on How do I read trade paper back comic book collections, but in cohesive narrative? 7 months ago:
With Western comics, you sort of don't. You follow specific series with the characters you like, or you obsessively compile reading order lists from various wikis and comic tracking sites that each seem to add more and more issues until you've spent way too much time and money.
Reading manga is a lot more straightforward, in my experience. You just read it in order and then check if there are any sequels or spinoffs.
- Comment on if you had to choose one 7 months ago:
It's incredibly difficult to pick between 1 and 2, even before the meme. On the one hand, bears. On the other, bears.
