- Comment on A New York court has temporarily blocked the city from installing a bike lane in response to a lawsuit from local businesses owners, who alleged it would compromise public safety 2 weeks ago:
LOL…the support pillars are not that large. This is just concern-trolling on the part of Nimbys.
- Comment on When Americans Fly Economy, They're Actually Paying for Someone Else to Fly Private 2 weeks ago:
A lot of the FAA fee is used to fund the various airport facilities, so yes it does make sense to charge on per-passenger basis.
- Comment on CATL announces sodium batteries that cost as little as $10/kWh, a massive price reduction compared to the current average of $115/kWh for lithium-ion batteries. 2 weeks ago:
I don’t know about LiFePo3, but LiFePO4 prices are dropping to the sub $100 level.

Sodium batteries generally have poor round-trip efficiency. This won’t be game-changer for home or solar use unless CATL can solve that problem.
- Comment on California is debating whether or not to remove the bike lane on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. During the public hearing, a politician was driving his car 3 weeks ago:
No, it is not legal. This bike path is part of the Bay Trail, which was enacted by State legislation. The BCDC was specifically created by the legislature to ensure maximum feasible public access to the Bay. So voting to close the path violates any number of laws and policies.
As for driving while distracted by the phone…yeah that’s also illegal.
- Comment on In New York City, Drivers Who Run Red Lights Get Tickets. E-Bike Riders Get Court Dates. 5 weeks ago:
This excuse is BS. Unpaid traffic tickets can already result in a bench warrant and arrest even without the court summons.

Republicans have a 2024 platform. You can Google it.
- Comment on Inflation? 1 year ago:
Sorry, but it is mainly Biden’s policies. The administration has largely ignored white collar crime, especially when it comes to things like price collusion, antitrust, etc.
Case in point: the DOJ lawsuit against RealPage software (which landlords were using to collude on apartment prices). The company was engaged in extremely serious criminal activity, but the DOJ did not file any criminal charges.
