Disinvest from Fortune 500 and start investing in less shitty companies

See if your utility or a nonprofit offers energy assessments. Sometimes they have someone that can come to your house and use one of those. Or they give free LED bulbs. Or free switches so you can turn off outlets when not in use.

Have you shopped your resume around with friends or family? Or stripped identifying info and posted it here? Blind spots happen with resumes and a little outside perspective can help with targeting it to the job you want.

- Comment on Is the world more volatile now or is it just the abundance of news? 3 weeks ago:
So in the 90s we had news over sensationalize crime and we thought our cities were all unsafe. Moms kept their kids inside.
Now in the 10s and 20s we have the news sensationalizing politics and we think we are under fascists or communists when the real problem is the corpos nobody is talking about. - Comment on How do I make the most out of a mediocre laptop? 3 weeks ago:

- Comment on Why don't politicians during a hearing let the person they are questioning actually answer questions and speak? 3 weeks ago:
The structure of the hearings is designed for soundbites.
Each rep or senator gets x minutes, and then it switches to the other party.
For a hostile senator, the panelist is incentivized to waste as much time as possible. Qualify every statement, have drawn out answers, try not to outright lie but get as close as you can to get by the question.
The splitting between parties means there's no coordination among the senators. Each one asks the same questions. There's no followup on bad answers. Each rep wants the soundbites for their YouTube channel.
It's really bad for oversight or actually doing any governing.

- Comment on Just got arrested for a supposed DWI even though I blew a 0.0000000. Don't cops need to read your Miranda rights to you? I asked for a blood or hair follicle test and I was denied. WTH is happening? 4 weeks ago:
What's funny is the growth of right wing anti cop channels. People with guns all over the background of the shot, talking about private property and etc, talking about how cops are just out to get you.
There's like 50 of these channels and they're popular. Every video the host says that cops make shit up, invent ways to get you in prison, and never to talk to them. And then shows a body cam video exemplifying that.
Police are really fucking things up if they are losing the audience this much. - Comment on Is it just me or are we having a rehash of the Reagan years? Mental Health are going under funded, we are screw with Iran again, got an "actor" in the White House, and the poor on their own? 4 weeks ago:
What's fun about this is before 2025 you could trace any national problem back to Reagan and how he made it worse. Now in 2028 you can do that for trump.
I hate that I have no expectation that anyone could win that would be willing to undo all of that damage. - Comment on How do I figure out where flies are entering my house? 1 month ago:
Fly strip in each room and see where there are more?
- Comment on How do I figure out where flies are entering my house? 1 month ago:
If you've ruled out the kitchen and bathroom, try exterminating in one room, closing it off for a couple of days, then opening it up. If you see more that's likely a source..

Some places use a directed air blast at the door whenever it opens up. Enough to push any bugs away from opening the door.

Family member had it happen. It's easy to take them off if there are 5 years of stickers on top of each other. But, just exacto knife the tag a lil and it's too much trouble to lift off.

I read a bunch of we novels, and this is definitely the quality of some of the ones I have come across. Youll get lots of comments to suggest improvements. If you choose your premise wisely enough, something with dedicated fans, you might get those people to stick around and keep offering comments.
Something like 'I'm a furry dog person and I got transported to hogwarts' with a NSFW label, and some people will stick around.
Some regular writing schedule would also give you practice and take some of the overly flowery language out - which could be good. - Comment on Find Cow 2 months ago:
