For some reason, I used to drink this stuff a few years ago. Now I can’t stand it at all.

Unfortunately, yes.

it’s the same in Germany. I’m pretty sure it existed well before sprite.

There’s a very detailed article about GrapheneOS banking app compatibility where you can check if your bank’s app works on Graphene: github.com/…/banking-apps-compat-report/
Regarding the camera: Yes, you lost some quality with the default GrapheneOS camera app. But you can easily install the official Google camera app from the Play store (or anonymously through Aurora) to get full quality. You don’t even need Google play services installed for that to work, and you can revoke it’s network access, so it’s completely offline and private. I use the Google camera app all the time, it works flawlessly.

GrapheneOS gets rid of all the Google crap, it’s a much lighter and more minimal experience, I really like it. It also has some significant privacy and security improvements, it’s pretty neat.
- Comment on Now, if it was a Pixel... 5 days ago:
Do you have GrapheneOS installed on it? That way, you could at least get the update to Android 14.
- Comment on Now, if it was a Pixel... 6 days ago:
GrapheneOS is the way to go, unfortunately the 5a won’t be supported by Google for much longer, only until August of this year. GrapheneOS will probably provide a few extra months of extended support though.
- Comment on Now, if it was a Pixel... 6 days ago:
The Pixel 7a is almost the same size, just 0.2 inches bigger. Unlike the S10e, it is still supported by Google and gets security updates (until 2028). And you can install a better, more secure Android ROM like GrapheneOS.

Just use LibRedirect with Redlib
- Comment on What is Reddit doing 1 week ago:
Me neither, at least I haven’t logged into my account to browse reddit. Occasionally I click on a Reddit because it’s the result of my websearch. But I always use a private frontend called Redlib for that, LibRedirect automatically redirects all Reddit links to Redlib, it’s really useful. UntrackMe does the same on Android, Privacy Redirect on iOS.

You can use UntrackMe on Android or Privacy Redirect on iOS. Or if you are on Anndroid and use Firefox or a fork of it like Mull or Fennec, you can install LibRedirect there.
- Comment on The ad in the middle of this article about conspiracy theories 1 week ago:
Use an adblocker in your browser and an ad-blocking DNS server like Mullvad DNS (it’s super easy on Android, just search for Private DNS in the settings and set it to
base.dns.mullvad.net
), AdGuard DNS (same thing, super easy, just set it todns.adguard-dns.com
) or NextDNS on your phone (and ideally on all your other devices). There’s also an app called AdAway, but it takes up the VPN slot so you can’t use it together with a VPN. - Comment on What is Reddit doing 1 week ago:
The only decent way to browse Reddit nowadays is a private frontend called Redlib. You can use the LibRedirect browser extension or the UntrackMe Android app to automatically redirect all Reddit links to Redlib. It’s better for privacy, since you don’t need to access Reddit directly and thus your information isn’t exposed, it works without JavaScript, it doesn’t have ads or trackers and works behind a VPN or Tor. It also lets you view NSFW content without any limitations.
- Comment on What is Reddit doing 1 week ago:
The only browser plugin you need for Reddit is LibRedirect to automatically redirect all Reddit links to a private frontend called Redlib
- Comment on What is Reddit doing 1 week ago:
Or use LibRedirect to do it automatically
- Comment on What is Reddit doing 1 week ago:
You can’t access the normal Reddit site behind a VPN either. The only solution is to use a private frontend like Redlib with LibRedirect, to automatically redirect all Reddit links to Redlib.

- Comment on All cheap smartphones have a fingerprint sensor but all laptops dont have one. Why? 1 week ago:
2 assumptions:
You need to unlock your phone more frequently than your laptop.
It’s easier to type in a password on a real keyboard than on a small software keyboard.
- Comment on How come liberals dont hate conservatives the way conservatives hate liberals 1 week ago:
In Germany, there is a conservative/far-right party that actually sees things that way. The AfD, the self-proclaimed “Alternative for Germany” (literally the spiritual successor to the NSDAP, the party of Adolf Hitler) once posted this picture on Facebook: Image
It shows a map of Germany, divided in two parts. The east, where the AfD has many supporters labeled as the Federal Republic of Germany, and the West where the AfD has been losing many elections labeled as an islamic Caliphate. These Nazis actually think that half of Germany is controlled by migrants and islamists. This insane view of the world is so fucked up, I can’t really describe it. Fun fact: An AfD member of the German parliament has been caught accepting large sums of money from Russia. Their MPs repeatedly traveled to Russia during the invasion of Ukraine, including the illegally annexed Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea. They also think that Russian elections are totally legit and Putin the war criminal has been legitimately elected by the Russian people. Their MPs also work for the Chinese intelligence service btw: lemmy.world/post/15121591

Btw Suyu hosts a full backup of Yuzu (and other stuff like Ryujinx or Dolphin in case it gets taken down at some point) on their Forgejo instance
It’s also available via Tor as an onion site: suyudev2qxj5x7mroamgwf4hqunz4pups27z2kl77x4ioqhh5…

Oh I’m very sorry, I confused Tampermonkey with another extension that stole user data. Tampermonkey is still proprietary though, which was my reason for avoiding it. Violentmonkey works just as well, but it’s open source.
