Why do you think you have to go through a checkout?
They could just pool your owed money and then charge you that at the end of the month, or let you maintain a pool that you throw money into that they take from as you use it.

PPA works for ad networks and not users. I don’t care about your ‘moderate take’ about a technology invented by the actual opposition who would strip-mine your corpse for minerals if they were given the opportunity just because it’s not as evil as it could be. It is still evil technology that works against you.
- Comment on Amazon's system marked an item I returned a year ago as not received and charged me for this return, but the chat bot already knew they had received it. 1 month ago:
Amazon gave me a partial refund for something that arrived with defects and then I requested a full refund because it turns out it was way more broken than I initially thought in exchange for sending it back but I never sent it back and they just approved the full refund.
There is nobody in charge at Amazon costumer support

There’s only one store in my town that explicitly signs that I have to leave my backpack at the front desk but they haven’t had the balls to tell me no, yet. I will just shop anywhere else the moment they as much as mention it to me.

Yeah man I have all of the context, it’s just a very The Onion thing to have happen. I really can’t tell if it’s real or a joke

I’m not a programmer but I work with IT and I regularly need complex shell scripts. ChatGPT has enabled me to skip the largest portion of slamming my head against the wall by writing the script for me and then I can tune it if it gets something wrong. Saves me hours and hours of my life.

I’m going to whip out my 12 hour Oblivion retrospective that I watched in one sitting as evidence to the contrary to support his point: This video is padding, it’s very slow and it doesn’t really get to that many points.
It is OK to criticize media. This video seems to be long-form for the sake of being long-form, not because it has a lot of ground to cover. I don’t particularly care, it mostly ran in the background, but it’s a legitimate criticism.
I’ve also personally noticed that I tend to click off 10-minute videos in 2 minutes if they don’t get to a point or say something interesting, because the trend is that it’s pushing for time to keep you engaged to show you more ads and it’s a huge waste of my time. Whatever that video eventually gets around to saying could’ve been a twitter post.

To quote them directly
… it will not be possible to offer refunds for Ultimate Edition buyers.
we will compensate Ultimate Edition holders by adding 3 Creator Packs and 3 Radio Stations which, together, sum up to a value of USD 39.99.
translated: We are sorry you did not like our fart gas that we pretended was gold. Unfortunately we cannot refund you because we just can’t ok stop asking questions. Here are 3 polished turds and some mp3 files that we have valued to be worth 40 dollars as a reward for your loyalty!

The torx we got in the toolset I use are probably just kinda shitty, honestly
- Comment on Whoops 7 months ago:
I’m actually conflicted; I have a lot more trouble with torx at work than I do alan, but phillips are universally a problem. The torx keys don’t stick in the hole and can’t be tilted at odd angles where as alan keys with a ball head can, and do stick in the hole to some degree which lets me free-spin it. I’ve ruined a lot more torx from over-torgue than I have alan keys. I would take torx over alan keys if it meant I never had to see a phillips again, though

I can’t recommend Navidrome to people who aren’t necessarily big on self-hosting, it’s simply far too big of a project. Gonic is very narrow in scope and it’s a drop-in binary; just works.
