n=1. Just one. A really good one. Even starts with n funnily enough. I believe by definition it denotes a group of people which reside in the city of Paris but it’s not that city’s demonym.

Same here. Battery is still going strong. Only thing that bothers me is the RAM seems a bit too smol. Open a game and Lemmy says byebye. Not enough of an issue to upgrade to a whole new phone tho.

No mate look on the right side, the number 20 is repeated. Ye imperial units are fucked but we are not at a point where 20 Celsius is equal to 2 different Fahrenheit values.

- Comment on Are those of us who grew up on older games more attuned to latency? 2 weeks ago:
I get what you’re trying to say but I’ve definitely experienced performance problems even on lowest settings.
The issue isn’t that everyone tries to run the game maxed out. The issue is that fundamental problems are often left in the games that you can’t just fix by lowering quality settings. - Comment on Are those of us who grew up on older games more attuned to latency? 2 weeks ago:
No. The thing is AAA games are now being released in an unoptimized state way too often. Even if you still get good FPS microstuttering and short lag spikes still occur frequently.
Of course this can make you wonder if this is a you problem and you just got too sensitive.
Nope, this is an industry problem. Why would you optimize a game? No, legitimately asking. It doesn’t affect sales numbers, it often doesn’t significantly tank your steam review score (that most publishers don’t care about), there are practically no downsides to not optimize your game.
But if you do value optimization, it lowers dev velocity, requires more training/awareness for devs and artists, and you won’t be able to ship as fast anymore. And on top of that you get… nothing. A few more sales maybe? - Comment on Are those of us who grew up on older games more attuned to latency? 2 weeks ago:
I had a super underpowered PC I grew up with and it influenced my imagination. For a long time stuff I’d imagine also ran at like 15-20FPS. Really weird effect.

Yeah that’s exactly it. If I squat such that my feet are flat then my center of gravity is waaay behind me. Luckily this has never impacted me in my day to day life.

- Comment on Players Have Too Many Options to Spend $80 on a Video Game 4 months ago:
I’ve only bought one $80 game thus far (And that was during a 30% steam sale so only $55) and from my years of experience of buying games, I can confidently say that my enjoyment in games goes down as price goes up.
Although weirdly all of the $80 games that released so far have been pretty bad so that’s strange.
- Comment on Tina Fey Embraced “the Sandler Model” for New Show ‘The Four Seasons’: “Actors in Nice Locations, Wearing Flat Shoes” 4 months ago:
Just finished watching it. Immediately gave it a shot because of Tina Fey’s involvement but there are a few other actors that I also love so it should have had a lot going for it (from my perspective).
But wow, I did not like it. There were a few moments where I laughed out loud in the first episode but I didn’t laugh for the remaining 7 episodes.
The story was also really meh. For me it was just watching a friend group doing things with little to no connective tissue. Which… yeah, I get that it’s two episodes per season which is the whole gimmick of the show. But I couldn’t get invested in any of the characters or their lives because all the important stuff happens in the months that are off-screen.
Unsolicited mini-review over hehe
- Comment on What open-world games on Steam have satisfying movement, like Arkham Knight or Spider-Man? 5 months ago:
Riders Republic is so much fun. It has a relatively low skill floor but also a really high skill ceiling. Go watch some stunt clips to see just what you can pull off.
The different sports are a lot of fun and honestly what other game lets you transition from Skateboard to BMX to Jetpack in a span of a few seconds.
Only downside is that the more fun sports are locked behind a DLC purchase but it goes on sale quite frequently.

I liked the next fest demo and I’m glad the game seems to be doing well for the devs.
- Comment on PS5 Pro sales ‘have fallen behind PS4 Pro in the US 6 months ago:
This is the core issue of console gaming tho. You can’t actually upgrade. You just straight up buy a new console. This wasn’t that big of a deal during the PS4 gen because the PS4 pro wasn’t that expensive. But at the current price points a different strategy is needed.
Honestly I think if Sony made a program like “mail us your old PS5 and like $200 to get a PS5 Pro” the console would’ve done better. It wouldn’t address the “why do we need this?” part (especially considering we’re hearing reports of GTA6 running at 30 FPS on the Pro) but it would’ve done some good for customer goodwill.
