- Comment on Ubisoft says you "cannot complain" it shut down The Crew because you never actually owned it, and you weren't "deceived" by the lack of an offline version 3 days ago:
I agree with this point, and it’s also why I think the class action suit makes sense. Some of the people who bought The Crew got a physical copy, which is now just a useless disc. It’s still just a license like you said, and I agree that it feels like they’re selling the game.
It’s like if the movie theater sold a DVD for a movie, but the disc will only work while you’re in the theatre. Pirating might still be a crime legally but I don’t think anyone should feel bad about doing it here, Ubisoft absolutely does not deserve your money over slimy business practices like this.
- Comment on Killing Floor 3 Delayed (With no new release date) 5 weeks ago:
Played the beta, and yeah it did kinda feel like a step down. The guns and enemy attacks all feel less impactful, I remember KF2 having a lot more punch to everything. The guns especially felt very weak, and there’s a lot less options than before. Classes are locked to a specific character skin instead of letting you pick, but that might just have been for the beta. Also, for some reason, the enemy designs all look more similar to each other instead of more distinct, which doesn’t help when trying to identify which enemies are which. And yeah, I saw a lot of stuff that pointed to negative mtx and monetization: battle pass, dailies/weeklies, tons of cosmetics, all the usual suspects.
All that being said, I still hope the delay lets the devs fix a lot of stuff, I really liked KF1 and 2, and there was stuff in the beta that I liked (loved the soundtrack, and the maps looked really cool). I don’t think the beta had any issues that can’t be fixed, so I’ll wait and see.
