I’d be glad without the silly slow disks.
Games aren’t streamed from the optical disks anymore. 8th gen of consoles (PS4 and Xbox one) required installing to a drive in order to play since HDD/SSD over sata is faster than optical.
Don’t most games need net for verification or updating anyway?
Yes, for updates, but I feel like you also need to do that on PC since we haven’t invented magic quite yet.
So it’s not yours even with a silly disk in hand
This does not follow from your previous statement. “If fish can’t fly then why are tomatoes red.” Games with the full game on disk work as is with whatever version of the game was put on there unless it requires online access.

We as a society really have failed. How have we not addressed the monsters that are very openly admitting to being monsters?

Yeah, i had the same thought. Is that real? Did he really say that? Does it even matter anymore if he says something so incomprehensibly stupid you get a migraine?
I’m just tired boss. I’ll protest and vote and whatnot, but keeping up with him is just too tiring.

Gary’s whole thing afterwards was “if it was your kid you’d do it too”. Also, his ex-wife was completely unaware of the plot, but after finding out stated “I would have offered to drive him (Gary)”

TL;DR the guy up close is pedophile Jeffrey Doucet, the guy in the background is Gary Plauché who’s kid was one of Doucet’s victims. This photo is like 3 seconds before Gary killed Jeff.

I know it was broken as all hell at release, but a buddy and I had a blast playing it. I still love playing with a friend, going around, then after a big fight looking at my friend, looking at a corpse, back at a friend… “You gonna eat that?”
- Comment on What is a game that you know is bad but really enjoy(ed)? 3 weeks ago:
A lot of people who grew up with it do like it (it does hold a weird nostalgic spot for me too), and you can actually blame either the Wii’s specs and/or management at Sega for it being as poorly held together as it is. It along with sonic heroes are arguably sonic adventures 3 & 4 since both follow a similar formula to the adventure titles.
Yeah, its pretty broken, but the ways its broken are consistent and if you know how its broken it can actually be a really fun sandbox to fuck around in.

- Comment on Is it possible to install a distro directly from online ? 4 weeks ago:
Make a bootable USB with your distro of choice. To do that download the .iso file and use a tool like balena etcher to write that iso to a flash drive (4 GB is usually enough for this). Be aware doing this wipes everything off the flash drive so back up anything important. Reboot the computer and mash esc, f1, f2, f11, f12 (those are the most common ones I’ve noticed). You should either pop up into the bios or into a boot selection process. If you’re in the bios just tell it to go to a boot menu, if you’re in the boot menu pick your flash drive and run through the steps there.

I remember reading a spoiler free review of either 8 or 9 right before watching it. The reviewer wasn’t kind and said something to the effect of “at a certain point you’ll know what’s about to happen next and that will be true for the rest of the movie”. That line stuck with me because it was so on point. It was disappointingly early on that I saw plot points happen 10 minutes into the future.

At least that guy had a relevant degree. Not knowing how to use it though sounds like he sucks ass in his own shitty way though. Glad you’re out of there at least.

The guy from my last job who ordered my firing (and thus caused everyone else in the department to quit in solidarity) has one of those jobs. Seriously, everyone in that department quit within 4 months all of them citing me getting fired as the last straw and this guy as another massive reason. None of us knew what he did/does. It seemed like after every time one of them quit he some how got a promotion. He’s head of IT and software but has no fucking clue how to use a computer and constantly fucked up even buying computers.
Honest answer, I guess blackmail or be good friends with someone high up.

I’ll do a quick look up of the hospital if its one I haven’t seen before, but other than that I have no idea who got it.

Okay, your output is different given the same input… So what? It’s a well known fact that these LLMs are non deterministic. Theres a guy on youtube that asks chatgpt everyday to count to 200 until it doesn’t fuck up. Your output does not prove or disprove the authenticity of the original post.

I mean, in a vacuum, a smart washer is a nice idea which is actually useful. Set the time to start the washer to 430 so it finishes when you get home. That’s a good and useful improvement.
In practice however, gestures wildly there’s the obvious data collection both of your laundry habits and anything the app on your phone can reach.
I’m not opposed to smart tech, but it has to actually benefit to product. A smart TV is a better TV (again, the data collection BS, but I am ignoring that for the moment). It can launch Netflix or Hulu or whatever, and you can watch from the comfort of your couch without another device. It is doing TV better than a non smart TV.
Also, I would love it if there was a good FOSS TvOS.

In English, the correct demonym for a citizen of the United States of America is “American”. There have been others that somewhat are accepted but are not universal like “Yankee” which half the population would take great offense to.
It isn’t centering the world on us to call ourselves Americans, it’s the only thing that works in the language and is accepted by everyone it applies to. Call a Canadian an “american” and watch how quickly they correct you.
I’ve seen people propose “United statesian” but there 2 problems with that, first it does not flow well in English, second that doesn’t actually fix the problem since there’s still be ambiguity with people living in the United Mexican States.
