- Comment on Does enshitification happen because companies are publicly-traded? 2 weeks ago:
Enshittification happens because there is a lucrative incentive to sell access to users by cannibalizing the user service itself.

This post was impure. I have policed it.

That’s good except “Would you mind…” should be “I’m going to do things my own way going forward.”
- Comment on Woodford Reserve tried to undermine unionization effort at its Kentucky distillery, judge rules 4 weeks ago:
No. A company with over a billion dollars in revenue? No, this all seems unlikely. Why would a company try to suppress the wages of its employees? There’s no incentive, and how would they even go about it if, for some strange reason they actually wanted to? It’s not like there’s a notorious power imbalance between employer and employees by the very nature of the relationship that only unionization (or like, socialism or something if you just wanted to be some kind of pinko) could possibly begin to address.
No, very unlikely, improbable, and doesn’t seem like the kind of thing that would or could happen here in these God’s Greatest Country Ever™.

No, I tend to block spamposters, whether they’re allowed or not, and there’s one spamposter I can’t seem to block. I have them blocked, definitely tried toggling that button, can’t see the posts/comments on their userpage, but can see their posts on the front page.

Oh, I meant that the admins were exercising that personal preference by erring on the side of caution. It had to be either light mode or dark mode, and I’m speculating they chose darkmode for accessibility reasons.
My bad, you’re right, my use of pronouns was ambiguous here. I was saying that dark mode is more accessible to persons with visual impairments because of its high contrast.
- Comment on [deleted] 2 months ago:
I feel both of these are matters of personal preference, and I think the admins prefer to err on the side of caution generally. Both of these are fairly cautious choices. Light mode might be more friendly or whatever, but it’s definitely more accessible, especially to persons with visual impairments.
Also, holy fuck lemmy.world update already. Your instance is broken af.
